Our visit to Roosters Restaurant for brunch will forever be etched in our memories as one of the most disappointing and distressing dining experiences of our lives. Stepping into the restaurant at 1pm, we held onto hope for a pleasant meal despite the already ominous signs.
The first blow came with the iced coffee, a watery, milky concoction that tasted more like disappointment than caffeine. It set the stage for what would become an unrelenting cascade of culinary catastrophes.
The Monte Cristo, touted as a brunch classic, arrived at our table devoid of any semblance of flavor or finesse. Cold ham and turkey sandwiched between lackluster French toast, accompanied by hash browns that seemed to have been cooked with indifference rather than care. It was a dish that screamed mediocrity at every bite, a far cry from the culinary delight we had anticipated.
The only glimmer of hope came from our children's enjoyment of the chicken and waffles, but even their innocent joy couldn't mask the overwhelming disappointment that permeated the air.
As we waited an agonizing eternity for our orders to arrive, the minutes stretched into an eternity of longing and frustration. The burger, promised as a beacon of hope amidst the culinary wreckage, only served to prolong our suffering as it languished in the kitchen, seemingly forgotten by the staff.
To compound our misery, both my daughter and I suffered from severe gastrointestinal distress after the meal. Witnessing her young frame wracked with nausea and discomfort was a heart-wrenching experience that no parent should ever endure. And as I too fell ill upon returning home, the bitter taste of regret mingled with the acrid bile rising in my throat.
I implore you, dear reader, heed my warning and spare yourself the anguish of dining at Roosters Restaurant. Our harrowing experience serves as a cautionary tale, a testament to the perils of misplaced trust and dashed expectations.
Roosters, you have shattered our faith in the power of a good meal to bring joy and comfort. Your failures have left scars that may never fully heal. And though I may never again darken your doorstep, I will carry the memory of this disastrous brunch with me as a reminder to always trust my instincts and never settle for anything less than excellence.
Unless your sole purpose is to enjoy mimosas, I advise you to dine elsewhere, especially if...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOK so we were in town for a walk. And while in town we decided we wanted to have breakfast after the walk and we didnāt want to eat somewhere that we could eat in our own town so we found this place. It was very busy. It was the second restaurant we went to because the wait time the first place was so long. They told us 25 minutes at this restaurant and so we decided to give it a shot. It was standing room only outside the restaurant, there was dining inside and out. Very casual. In fact, several people had pets - dogs. The outdoor dining literally was 3 feet from the parking lot which was fine except when cars started coming and going. We dined outside. That inside looked packed. I went into use the restroom and did not see any open tables. Our server took about 10 minutes to get to our table. His name was Victor. He was very aware as he took note of my grandsons name and mentioned it several times throughout our interaction. I ordered the tamale breakfast. The others with me ordered the Chiliques and the Mexi skillet. Kids had pancakes off childrenās menu. Our total was over $88 for 5 people. The service was good up until a point. It felt like once we had our food and we had cleaned up and weāre waiting for our check. We waited about 20 minutes for him to come around. It did take our food about an hour to come out from the time that we sat down, and about 40 minutes from the time that we placed our order. We were there a total time of almost 2 hours between the time of arrival eating and waiting for a check. I think for most people that want to come and just sit and enjoy mimosas, relax and drink, and not really have a pace. I think that thatās great. But if youāre there just to eat and run, it might be best to come a little later after the rush. I noticed that things started to get better after 1 PM. Overall I recommend the place I definitely think Iām gonna trade for more breakfast. Dishes specific was not too much of a fan of the tamales, but I felt just had a little too much sauce on it couldnāt really enjoy the meat. I did try both the pork and the chicken and was not a fan of either. But my husband will get to enjoy the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame for brunch today, and I almost didn't eat here because of an issue with the short, older woman who was in charge of seating people. I asked for a table for two, and I pointed to an empty table by the window. She told me no, I couldn't sit there, that the table was for 4 people. I said ok not a problem. Next she says go ahead and sit at the bar, and so I said we'd like a table please. Then she said, come back when your friend is here. At this point I'm looking around wondering what the heck is going on, there were several empty tables, and nobody else was waiting to be seated, so I'm trying to figure out, is this woman seriously not going to seat me??? What is happening here? I'm starting to get annoyed, so I stand firm and I explained my friend is parking the car, she is here, I would like to sit down and order coffee, that I'm here to eat and spend money. The woman seems to sense she has met her match and begrudgingly gets two menus.. she turns around and says "your friend better REALLY be here soon" because something about they don't have time to wait for us to order. I assure her my friend is REALLY coming momentarily. She walks me back to a table in the back of the restaurant.... And seats me at a 4 top table. Lol. Ok lady. My friend arrives 1 min later and we proceed to wait 20 minutes for someone to take our order. We were there for a leisurely meal, and the service was absolutely fantastic after that. Our server was attentive and helpful, the food portions were HUGE and our food was good. I had to take one star off because someone needs to talk to this woman and explain to her that being bossy and giving customers a hard time over what was a pretty trivial thing... Is not good for a first impression of their business. I'm hesitant to return to eat here because I dislike the idea of dealing...
