I recently took my class to the medical museum so they can get a look at how medicine was and what we have accomplished throughout the years. Below is some feedback of what it was like through their eyes "I found yesterdays trip very eye opening because it seems surreal how before things used to be so different. Technology has improved so much as time has passed by so it was very interesting to see all the things used before and compare them to things we use now." "The museum of medical history was excellent! I really enjoyed getting to look at all of the old medical devices, especially the cardiac section. The doctors were also so nice and very informative and answered all our questions. Would love to go back and take my family with me." "I really enjoyed how the doctors allowed us to walk around freely and if we had questions they knew it all. I also enjoyed seeing the evolution of how medicine has advanced throughout the years." "The things I enjoyed at the medical museum we went to yesterday was the assort of different kinds of medication and medical equipment through the years. I really like the very first presentation of the iron lung and how it worked. I also enjoyed hearing the gentleman yesterday talk about their experience growing up." "I had a very good time during yesterdays trip. I enjoyed seeing how different tools in medicine were used back then and how they've greatly improved now in some aspects. I only wish we could have spent more time at the museum!" "I think that yesterday was a really good experience for me because I got to see how medicine has advanced and to me learning the history and getting to ask the doctors questions was a great opportunity. I wish we had more time their to explore and look around more so I will be going back!" "The museum of medical history was a brilliant idea of demonstrating how was the old medicine. Seen all these types of medication the old books. It comes to my mind that back in the days it was more difficult for the doctor to examine the patients. Because now days with technology and how advance is easier to identify a disease." "The advancements in prescription medicine that I thought were the most fascinating. A law prohibiting these medications from being lethal has to be implemented. We saw that at the time, heroin and whiskey were regarded as prescription drugs." "What I really enjoy in yesterdays trip was the back ground of everything we saw there. The doctors had a lot of knowledge of the things that were on the museum and the was so amazing to me. The fact that they know so much and they weren't there when the items were fist introduce yet they know so much like if they were there. I love how they took their time and explain everything with such passion." "What I loved from visiting the museum was getting all the new knowledge about the past and how they used to do things before us. I loved seeing all the old medicine bottles, injections, EKG machines, stethoscope, old items for testing diabetes and much more. I also, enjoyed how the doctors were explaining to us the items they had there and their background on how they were used before. Its amazing how much knowledge they have and shared with us." "I really like visiting the museum yesterday and looking at all the old things that were used in the medical field. I really loved seeing the old needles, outfits scales, medicines, stethoscopes and found them really cool. I also found the iron lung really cool what it was used for and how it works." "I was very amazed with all the natural history and everything that I was able to see at the Museum yesterday. Specially the all the old medical instruments and the advancements we have had. I wish we could have had more time to actually go over every single and get more details on the anatomy." Thank you for allowing us to come in! We look forward to future visits! -Ms. K UEI Stockton

This is an amazing place to visit which shows an array of medical relics and old technology that gave rise to modern day advancements in medicine. I am truly grateful to know that a museum like this exists and those gems are preserved and made aware to the public. As a nurse, I appreciate my career so much more knowing the history of medicine. Thank you Dr. Bob LaPerriere for showing me arpund. I highly recommend this place to everyone. I was in town from Chicago and was pleased to see it open after their renovation. 👍

The museum of medical history is a hidden gem worth seeking out and spending an hour. Great museum, small, well organized, eye catching smartly grouped displays of medical history items from the early wild western days of Sacramento through mid-modern century. Super Engaging and knowledgeable docent, Dr. Bob LaPerriere to show you round some of the highlights. Each display has an easy to read interesting explanation, or you can open a QR code to listen to a narrative.
