Starbucks Coffee Company — Restaurant in Sacramento

I know Starbucks recently sent out a directive to their stores to raise their service levels. I would guess there was a lot of retraining, and company rules, and I visited quite a few different Starbucks in the past few months because I move around a lot.

I'm visiting a friend in this neck of the woods, and I walked to the Starbucks this morning to get my regular which is a venti Pike place with heavy cream. I love cream and coffee, and Starbucks is one of the few places where I can get this.

What really marks this particular Starbucks is that they are One of the most cohesive and friendly teams. They work brilliantly well together, genuine smiles all round, laughter and efficiency.

I'm extremely observant. At times, I like to have and everything bagel, double toasted, with two mini containers of cream cheese.

Most other Starbucks toast them once, assuming I won't know the difference. In some locations where I have been a regular for a while, I've had to individually coach almost every person in the establishment to what double toasting means. Not the Starbucks. They got it perfect first time, which is really unusual.

Two different staff have already visited me where I am sitting and ask me if I would like a refill.

If I was Starbucks management, I would visit this place in heavy disguise as a customer, and look at what this location is doing right.

And if you do this, for heaven sakes, rethink all the wooden seats. Go to Tesla, and ask them to make you seats out of their vegan leather with whatever they use to fill the seat in their cars. They will last forever. Just make sure people can't...

Reviewing a Starbucks is kind of silly. They sell coffee. They are the ones that sell coffee without naming everything Mc. They treat their employees far better than most in food service, even paying for a 4-year college degree for someone on a minimum wage job. But the bottom line is they sell coffee, and they price that coffee hi because they're selling their atmosphere not just coffee. When it comes to atmosphere, Starbucks 30 years ago was much better than Starbucks today. They are no longer a third place. They are a big Lobby with lots of coffee and not much else interesting, very different from 1990 when they were introducing new blues artists and coming up with coffees that were branded to fit with the album. Also very different from 1990 where they sold top tier espresso equipment for home, grinders, and all sorts of interesting doodads to help people make their own. Big place, lots of space but is located next to Sacramento City College, so expect place to be full from morning around 9am to evening, if you want to read or get work done I advise come in the early morning at 5am, place is relatively clean, and be aware this is just another Starbucks, don't expect to be treated as a king or a queen, be humble and order in advance, because people who work here have lives same as you, be kind and neat despite what others do. I personally like this place because it's close to where I live, and there's lots of seating available and in the mornings a good place to read and get things done, with a hot cup of coffee.
