Okay at first I felt bad for posting this because its at odds with so many other positive reviews but apparently many of the negative Yelp reviews also speak to the same problem. Girlfriend and I sat down at the bar and ordered 2 appetizers and 3 sushi rolls. We got the first appetizer straight from the sushi chef which looked odd, but my girlfriend thought it was what she ordered. After one bite i noticed our waitress talking with the chef about how the appetizer was supposed to go to the couple NEXT to us instead. Whoopsie. Well, as the night continued they left the appetizer with us, and there were no other mix ups. We ate it, the rest of our sushi, and NOTHING was said to us about having to pay for their mix up. Finally at the end of the night the waitress spoke with the chef before bringing us the bill and we found we had been charged for the appetizer. We spoke with the waitress asking why we were being charged for the appetizer and were told after speaking with her boss she was told to add on the appetizer. Rather than press the issue we just chose to pay to leave. Needless to say, we won't be going back.

Eating here is always a treat and cures a seafood or sushi desire. Their eating space is small with some space available outside, I recommend reserving a table if you are dining in groups more than four. The menu is great and provides a wide variety of Asian/Japanese cuisine, consisting of sushi, nigiri, raw fish plates, bbq meats, bentos, teriyaki, traditional salads, miso soup, and tempura items. Just like any sit-down restaurant, service speed varies and some menu items take longer than others. I highly recommend ordering the bento with salmon and chicken teriyaki which also includes miso soup, rice, salad(with an extremely delicious sweet creamy dressing), & pieces of a cali roll. Sushi Cafe is a comfy little spot for a nicer casual dining experience.

I’ve been going to sushi cafe for YEARS. Great food, great prices. I would say they are up there with Mikuni, maybe even better. Bento boxes have good portions and come with salad and miso soup. Spicy garlic edamame is the best I’ve tried. Packed with flavor. If you get there during happy hour, the sushi rolls are $5!!!! Insane deal. Recently ordered the sushi boat. $77 with 48 pieces. Presentation is great, but for the price I expected more. It’s good for samples but it’s almost cheaper to get individual rolls. More pieces, less money.

The shrimp tempura side dish was the best I’ve ever had. Lightly battered and shrimp so tender you can cut into small piece using chopsticks with little effort. We were able to get two drinks, one bento box meal and hearty creamy maguro roll made spicy and the appetizer for less than $32. The roll was so soft it melted in my mouth. The bento box was served with two main items and we picked curry chicken and tonkatsu pork. Very tender. Extremely good. It came with a miso soup, small green salad, california rolls and white rice. Delicious. Loved the miso, not two salty or over powering.

The service was very quick for lunch on the weekend. There was no wait other than them wiping a table down for us. It seems the wait staff work together to serve each table which actually makes it more comfortable to ask anyone walking by for a refill or more wasabi. Actually, we never had to ask for a refill - only using that as an example.

i will return and recommend this establishment to others. The parking is shared with others in the strip mall so that may limit the dining traffic of the restaurant. We found two parking spots right...

I have always enjoyed eating a this restaurant since the initial opening. The food and service has been very good. This evening I ordered dinner and was helped by a new employee with disastrous results. While giving my order I explained I had a shellfish allergy. I requested 1) No shellfish in the Philadelphia roll and 2) no shellfish in the same container as an order of Hamachi sushi. Simple yet important instructions that have been given to multiple staff members in many restaurants over the years. The Philadelphia roll contained shellfish and the Hamachi sushi was in a container with my wife's order containing crab. I am tired and hungry but at least I am not experiencing anaphylactic shock. Take home message for Damon, the owner: New employees need instruction on the significance of...
