The standard consensus seems to be, 'a little pricey', I concur.
I had the DOUBLE BURGER, FRIES & DRINK MEAL at $17.18 or 3 gallons of gas at today's prices.
Everything seems to be FRESH, the freshly ground Angus beef, the lettuce, tomato, onion & pickle all had that FRESH, CRISP TASTE!
The beef was not that tasty... I believe it is fresh Angus, just did not have much flavor to it.
The fries are plentiful, FRESH and THICK they have that potato taste with just a tad too much salt. Not enough to drive you away, but, enough to make you aware. They were very tasty both well done and crispy as well as medium, tender and juicy, perfect combination for fries.
"No coke, just Pepsi" so I enjoyed a Dr.Pepper.
When driving by one would not think, 'Hey, that place looks nice, let's go there' as I have driven by HUNDREDS OF TIMES and never stopped. I did stop today as I saw the rating/review at 4.5! THAT I WILL ASSUME is why everyone stops in either the reviews OR... just out of curiosity.
ANYWAY... My rating of 4.0 is a result of the $17.18 price tag and the urge was lacking that BEEF FLAVOR. BOTTOMLINE:... The burger, fries and Dr. Pepper were NOT worth $17.18!
I will probably not go back, I was actually thinking about going to Carl's Jr. for my double burger and went to the VILLAGE DRIVE-IN as a result of the reviews.
Enjoy your meal...
Read moreFirst time here and was shocked that this place has a bathroom and it's clean and spacious.
When I ordered, Luis was patient with me when I asked him all kinds of questions and he provided awesome customer service.
I ordered the cheeseburger with grilled onions meal and substituted the fries for onion rings and also ordered the fried zucchini. Usually ranch at places like this is my favorite, however, when I dipped one fried zucchini in the house made dressing and ate it and it blew my mind because it tasted so good and also had to wait a little bit from eating the zucchini because it was still hot and fresh that I burned my mouth. The house made dressing tasted like a cross between tartar sauce and ranch. Super delicious amd definitely my favorite now!
When I bit into the burger it took me to a different place - a happy place. Everything on the cheeseburger with grilled red onions tasted clean and fresh. Something I've never tasted before. The onion rings were crispy and good and it tasted better dipped in the house made dressing.
This is now one of my favorite burger spots to eat at and the price is worth it. Highly...
Read moreSince the late 1950s.. I remember coming here in the 70s as a small child. I would often go there whenever I visited my late aunt & uncle McCoy who lived in the Tahoe Park area. On this occasion I called in my order..two 2 piece Fish with Fries, extra tartar sauce, malt vinegar, catsup, salt & pepper. Along with a Kiwi Slushy. The food was fresh & ready when I arrived. The customer service was very professional & great. The fish was cooked to perfection nice & flaky with just the right amount of crispiness & quite delicious. The fries were good but could've been a little bit more crispy ( crinkle cut would've paired better with the fish). The Slushy was very good. The only setback was that the tartar sauce was mediocre & could use a little sweet pickle relish & dill mixed in it to enhance the flavor. I also recommended the variety of hamburgers, the tacos, burritos, ice cream, shakes, ect..to try. Since since everything is pretty much delicious! The prices were very reasonable. I would highly recommend this restaurant!...
