Whats happened to Thai Bakery??? We used to eat here several times per week for lunch. Ngoc was usually our server and she knew us by name and preferences. We adored her! The food was also excellent. Now the entire service staff has turned over (2 or 3 times) and today was the clincher. We wont be back. Arrived at 12:45 for lunch and were greeted with the usual swipe of the hand to choose a table. Theres a new guy (super adorable) and he says just a moment. More like 10 moments before we even received menus. Then, 20 more moments and I noticed 3 other tables that came in after us were getting food!! What the holy F?? We had to track down that cute server and ask him to take our order. He said something like he was going to get this other woman to take our order but go ahead. We then had to track down some waters and a fork. We never got our salads which come with the lunch specials. Although he took our order he then set it down while he took someone else's payment (which took him like 10 more minutes). Then 15 minutes later my coworkers lunch came but mine was not delivered at the same time. 5 minutes later here comes my order but without sticky rice I ordered. Had to track down the lady server who took another 10 minutes to bring the rice. When I got my rice I asked for our check because we'd been there for nearly an hour and I was only just beginning to eat. We gave him our cards and he proceeded to lose them on a table at the back of the restaurant. My coworker watched the guy look all over for the cards and our check. Finally she got up and picked them up from their hiding place for him. He has the cards for another 10 minutes before he came to the table with an Apple Square on his phone to run our cards right at the table!! He did not offer any discounts due to poor service. He did apologize but did not make any moves to make us happy or assuage our disappointment (at the very least). We were on lunch break from our JOBS!!! What is wrong with this place now? We left there at 2pm!! 1 hour and 15 minutes to get 2 plates of food!! I had to take most of my food to go. This is the 1st time I have EVER left no tip. He got the big goose egg because he and his partner were SO INEPT. What has happened to this once wonderfully prepared service establishment? I'm sorely disappointed and wont be back. Bad form Thai Bakery!...
Read moreI came here to eat some pineapple fried rice, my go-to when eating at a Thai Restaurant. When I got it, it was good, but I felt that there were a bit too many things in the rice that tasted differently. There were cashews and raisins along with the spices and other ingredients used. They put shrimp and chicken in the rice as well. I felt that the raisins gave the rice some sweetness that didn't belong. Personally, I feel that the raisins and cashews could be left out, but someone else may like it that way better. I also ordered Thai Tea. It was served to me mixed. I would have preferred to mix it myself but it is no biggie. It was $4 for the Thai Tea and around $16 for the pineapple fried rice. I would come back to try other dishes, but this one may not be my favorite here. The workers were kind and the place was clean. I hope to...
Read moreI tried a lot of dishes here and all of them were great. Since the owner is from Western Thailand, some of the flavors are unique compared to your standard Thai food, which was refreshing. The yellow curry was unlike any of the standard yellow curries I've had before, but just as flavorful if not more. The portion of chicken in the curry was generous and not dry. The Tom Yum soup with shrimp, basil eggplant, and basil fish were all very tasty and packed with flavor, not just heat or sugar coated. I always order pad se ew wherever I go and you can tell this place uses fresh and authentic ingredients. They used Chinese broccoli and not regular broccoli. They are in the middle of changing their name to Thai Street Bistro and would definitely eat here again. Great if you want to avoid the crowds and lack of parking downtown....
