Bytes Fusion Grill ™ — Restaurant in Saginaw Charter Township

I really want to like this place and I think there is some potential here if they can just work out the kinks. We were greeted when we walked in the door and the lady briefly explained how everything works and the quick byte options (great idea for lunch period but not sure why that is an option outside of like 11am-2pm). When we got to the counter to order, the woman at the register was struggling and was reading through everything as if it was part of the entree. For example: I ordered the chicken Shawarma and she was asking what kind of salsa and all this. I think she was reading off the options as if I had to make a choice instead of just asking if I would like to add a salsa or sauce or something. This was confusing to me and I feel like is costing the restaurant money by adding additional ingredients that are unnecessary. I asked for the salsa on the side (because I didn’t want it at all) and she said she didn’t know how to do that so it came on top. The food took maybe 10min and was pretty good (the shawarma apparently doesn’t come with the fries listed?) but the meat was extremely dry and hard in some places. I will probably go back because the only major detractor was the extremely painful ordering process, but I really hope they get the right staff as that’s an unfortunate reason to not...

A friend of mine ordered from here once and I tried some of the food and I instantly fell in love! The next week I came to the restaurant and I was impressed even more. It’s clean, the food is good and the people are very friendly there. Who I assume is the owner is really nice and the biggest thing I love the most is they don’t sell any pork products or use any pork byproducts to cook there food. My husband and I don’t eat pork so we are a little limited to what we ca eat when going out since 95% of the restaurants sell pork. My favorite dish is the puffs plate! There like mini Stromboli’s I guess. It’s like melted hot cheese and chicken inside this little rolled bread puff! And the spicy shawarma sauce is the best dipping sauce for these little balls of heaven!! If your in the Saginaw area and want to try something different definitely check out this place! Update: This was my FAVORITE place for several years but after 2 disappointing trips in a row I've stopped going. The ingredients/food quality has changed, and so has the service. Ordering and paying at a kiosk by the front door, then the food coming out in under 2 minutes? You can only assemble a bowl and bag it in under 2 minutes, so the food is no longer made fresh as it used to be. I walked out to my car and opened my food and it was cold. Since it was rice and I didn't know how long it had clearly been sitting out at room temperature, I decided to not risk eating the food, or come back. Makes me sad. Love this place. The food is always fresh and great, the prices are fair, the restaurant is always immaculate, and the owner is a really nice guy.
