Chan's Garden Restaurant — Restaurant in Saginaw Charter Township

My husband and I chose this place for convenience from our normal spot. We were very disappointed!! My husband got the garlic chicken with fried rice and an egg roll. I got the sesame chicken white rice and an egg roll and we got crab cheese. The best thing we had was the white rice….. The garlic chicken was not garlic chicken. My husband described it as mush. It was chicken in small chunks in a light colored gravy with vegetables. It honestly looked like vomit. We both tried it and it was nothing like garlic chicken . It was flavorless 1/10 My sesame chicken was breaded but the sauce seemed to be heavy on soy sauce, so pretty salty, and there was loads of carrots and broccoli and very little chicken. 4/10 Crab cheese….. what crab?! It was wonton stuffed with cream cheese. It was odd the sweet and sour sauce tasted very artificial and kind of like medicine 3/10 Egg rolls were greasy, and bland 3/10

This was my first time trying this place, it was OK but not impressive. The crab cheese were stuffed and looked very appetizing, but when I bit into one, there was an off smell and taste that I can't pinpoint and the filling was just plain cream cheese. The almond Boneless chicken combo had the same smell and taste as the crab cheese, leading me to think maybe it's from the fryer oil? Taste was a little bland, I had to douse the rice with extra soy sauce. Egg roll was good but saturated in oil, to the point the yellow oil dripped out of the bottom and onto my shirt. The saving grace of my first visit was the wonton soup! It definitely didn't look like any wonton soup I've ever had, and I've been to A LOT of Chinese restaurants, but it was delicious! I had to rethink my mindset of what I expected, because this was more of a vegetable wonton soup and not traditional of other restaurants. Prices were fair....

We came at the end of the day..right before closeing time. The Staff was extremley friendly...and the food is delicious. Except out order was wrong. :/ We ordered.. their special of the day which was "Chinese Vegetables" with chicken and rice. We ordered Orange chicken. And General tyso with egg rolls. Fried rice and crab ragoon. ☆The FOOD IS ABSOLUTLY DELICIOUS☆ BUT instead we got sweet n sour chicken..and like a gravy chicken... not spicy tyso.. I Believe it was just a communication error... and the end of the day. Im honna call them to see if they could fix the order somehow.. ill update to let you all know if they comp us with the correct order. But..i will definatley be eating here again..it has a cute intimate deating area...
