Too bad I can't give 0 stars. To the people claiming this is "authentic" you've obviously never been to a real Mexican restaurant. Had a co-worker get me a Steak Burrito meal with everything on it and he returned with 3 1" diameter rolled up tacos that contained only ground beef and some crappy shredded American cheese and THAT'S IT; no beans, lettuce, tomato, onion, cilantro, sour cream, etc. Literally just meat, cheese and a tortilla, and they couldn't even be bothered to fold the sides in. They evidently don't offer steak burritos either even though they have steak tacos!?!? I bite into these things that look like microwave tacos and am greeted with a flood of grease, but amazingly not even a hint of any discernible flavor, and unfortunately it was exactly the same story for the mushy "Spanish" rice and refried beans. I'm actually impressed that they managed to make all the courses equally devoid of taste. And don't bother with the hot ketchup they pass off as hot sauce, it's as bland and disappointing as everything else. Maybe I'm just spoiled being a visitor native to the Chicagoland region, but I urge all of you that liked this barely palatable garbage to try some actual authentic Mexican food sometime, you'll be blown away. Hell, I would rather eat Taco Bell any day over this mess....
Read moreMaria’s Food Truck - We had our wedding in August 2023 and I can’t say enough good things about Maria’s Food Truck. The food was really good, setup/presentation was great for the taco/nacho bar and they even cooked fresh quesadillas and other food. My personal favorites were the cinnamon chips and beans. The chicken and beef also had great flavor and you could tell everything was freshly made. They were super easy to work with to get a quote, make a down payment, and figure out what kind of menu we wanted. They were really flexible and got exactly what we needed for the day. We had a lot of family members ask us where they could find them again after the wedding because they loved the dinner. They were also really nice to us and all of our guests. They had a mishap of a flat tire on the way to our reception, but were able to get it fixed and still show up as soon as possible to continue with dinner service. I am so thankful they didn’t just give up on our event when the mishap happened, as I have had other vendors in the past do so. They were great with communication, and I can’t wait to eat there again because we really loved the food, all the options we had, and how...
Read moreBuffet is available but just ok. Not a lot of variety. Tacos and burritos as self service. There are lots of Mexican and Central American cuisine that could be highlighted or that could be the subject of experimentation but none of that is explored here. Just plain old tacos and burritos. Nothing to see here...move along.
18 April 2023. What a difference COVID-19 made. This time in a good way!!! What was lackluster is now vibrant and new. It looks like Maria's is now catering and food trucking. This has brought new life to their homebase. Big full buffet service done with love. She doesn't look like much from the outside, but Maria's really hits the spot for Mexican food done right. Thanks!!! July 19, 2023 Had buffet again, Enchiladas were cold, but they took the cold ones away and served the table our own plate and put fresh out on the buffet. We also had a side of the best guacamole, bursting with fresh...
