Update 4/2/2. Well I have been ordering pizza again for the last 4 weeks and a HUGE IMPROVEMENT!! The first three were absolutely perfect, the right size, the right amount of ingredients and they were fresh. The one yesterday was good but not like the other three which is acceptable, different people make a pie a tiny bit better than someone else that's why I don't like cookie cutter food. I think the pepperoni is from a different supplier as it's tasty is what I've come to expect from Papa'John's. It's nice to know that the management/owner read reviews and take them to heart. I refused to take a free pie or anything else as t influence my reviews. I expressed my concerns and they have turned it around 100% I'll continue to support this location as they took notice from a loyal customer. Try my favorite, double pepperoni original crust! Thanks and be well.
12/13/20 4:30pm Last night I stopped by to get my favorite double pepperoni regular crust large pizza. I didn't bother looking at it before I left as I was very specific as to what I wanted which was a thinner crust around the outside edge of the pizza. It smelled great on the ride home and I was hungry! I opened the box up and I couldn't believe what kind of pizza they made me. Not only is the outside edge of the crust huge, the amount of pepperoni is not even close to a double helping and the actual size of the pie was definitely not even close to a large like I've gotten dozens and dozens of times in the years I've been a customer at this location. I realize with everything else that's going on in our lives this might be nitpicking but when you order and pay for it a pizza to be made to order that's not asking too much from any establishment that serves food. Now on top of everything else the amount of cheese and sauce was very scarce. Now everyone has a bad day or an off day but for the amount of people working there at the time of my visit someone, anyone should have been looking over their products before it was boxed up for the customer. It's partly my fault for not checking in out before I accepted it. Either way there's no excuse for putting out a inferior product when you have come to expect the well made and great tasting pies I've come to expect from Papa John's. Some will say I should have returned the pizza for another one. After a very long day and living about 12 miles away I was not going to take the time and effort for the roundtrip needed to correct their mistake. It'll be a while before my next visit. If at that time I end up with what I've come to expect I'll update this post again and if it hasn't been corrected at that point I'll have to find a new place for pizza and I'll inform you of my experiences at that point in time.
Original Post: As always great service from all the staff especially Chris and Kevin who I've dealt with on numerous occasions. As far as I'm concerned they have the best pies in town!!! I moved here from the East coast only a few miles from NY so I know what good pies taste like. Until I tried Papa John's I thought I'd have to wait for a visit back east to have pizza again. They've really got the receipt right. I tried some of the others in the area a while ago and I can't post what I really think about there pies they were that bad! Nuff Said. Try the double pepperoni on the original crust! I get two at a time and save some for breakfast! It's good hot and cold(room temperature). It's absolutely delicious 😋 and the whole family feels this way. Treat yourself to your favorite toppings and enjoy the best pie...
Read moreWell this weekend I again ordered my usual pizza, large double pepperoni regular crust. It was what I had come to expect from Papa John's, a well made pie cooked just right. The staff was friendly and followed my order instructions perfectly. Compared to my last visit which was less than I had come to expect from Papa John's this was almost perfect. The reason for only four stars is the small amount of cheese on my pie. It's hard to make a pie exactly the same every single time as the staff changes and each of them build the pizza a little bit different than someone else. Papa John's is still my favorite place to go. I'm sure they will get better as the young staff gets more experienced and consistent making a pie that I have come to expect each time I place an order. There's a lot of new faces at this location and I'm sure they will get better with each pie they make. I will hopefully be able to give them five stars on my next visit as I have done so many times in the past. Most times they make the best pizza in town which is why I keep coming back. So place your order from the internet, by phone or in person as I do. The wait time is only a few minutes and this last visit they brought it out to me as I waited in my car. That's customer service at it's best. ...
Read moreWorst customer service EVER!!! Went into Papa John's the night before Halloween to order and pay for 3 pizzas. Was promised the 3 pizzas would ready at 6:00 pm on Halloween evening. Arrived at 5:50 pm and at 6:00 pm when someone finally came to the counter to wait on me (plus the other 2 other customers that had walked in!) I was told the pizzas were going in the oven right then. At 6:25 pm my husband came in to see what was taking so long. I asked a different employee when our pizzas would be ready and was told it would be another 20 or 30 minutes - - which meant the pizzas hadn't even gone in the oven yet. We had 10 other people waiting at home to start a birthday celebration and NO PIZZAS. This is the exact situation that I was trying to avoid by ordering and prepaying. I did receive a refund and a lame apology, but I don't recommend Papa John's for the service you receive at the Duval Mine Road store. (P.S. I called the store and spoke with the manager today. Got the same "Oh Well" attitude and a lame apology.) I know at least 12 people now that won't be getting their pizzas at Papa...
