I generally prefer to support small, local businessesâbut my experience with this bike shop was extremely disappointing. I called ahead to ask about reinforcing the tires on my BOB Duallie stroller and was quoted $21 for the tubes and $15 for labor. At no point was it made clear that this pricing was per tire. Naturally, I assumed it was a flat rate for the full job. When I came to pick it up, I was shocked to receive a bill for over $100 for just three small stroller tires.
Had I known the total would be that high, I absolutely would have done more research and called around to compare prices with other local shops.
When I called to clarify, a child answered the phone and insisted the per-tire pricing had been explainedâdespite not being on the original call. She even said, âthis happens all the time,â which is a red flag. Rather than listening or addressing the concern professionally, she became defensive and threatened to pull video footage. I encouraged her to do so, as Iâm 100% confident the per-tire pricing was never mentioned.
When I expressed concern by saying, âI hope my stroller is in the same condition as when we dropped it off,â she slammed the phone down and hung up. That level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. I truly want to support small businesses, but clear communication and respectful customer service are essentialâand unfortunately, this shop fell far short on both.
ETA response to owners comment Again, you were not present for the conversation, so it's disappointing to see you making inaccurate claims. Now you're resorting to twisting details, which only reinforces why I said, "I hope my stroller is in the same condition as when we dropped it off." My husband reviewed the video, as you should be aware, and at no point was it clarified that the price was per tube â this lack of transparency is exactly what led to the miscommunication.
You mention being in business for 20 years â honestly, that didnât come across in the way this situation was handled. Your response here, laced with sarcasm and condescension, is yet another example of the unprofessionalism I experienced. It's unfortunate that instead of taking accountability, you choose to belittle a customer....

I had come in unannounced without an appointment or even a call to have my bike looked at after another local shop had "repaired" it and "tuned" it only days before I met Rob.... first ride after that service the derailleur cable ripped out of the clamp and was so shredded I knew it should have been replaced and I knew I had paid for shoddy service. I explained to Rob I was getting back into cycling after a hiatus due to some injuries and was interested to upgrade AFTER this season, so I just wanted my current bike rideable. He was understanding about my needs, and had my bike ready the next day. Not only did he replace the front derailleur cable and adjust it, he identified a bent rear hanger and a poorly adjusted rear derailleur as well. He fixed that (should have been fixed with the original service in my opinion) and made some minor adjustments to brakes and chain as well. All in all, the old bike rides pretty well after Rob tuned it. The cost out the door was half what I paid just a few days prior to have (comparatively) nothing done to my bike.
Rob also took the time to interact with my toddler and let her look at some kid's bikes, ride some, and make her feel welcome too. He also talked with me about her needs as she grows into her first 2 wheeler. Not once was anyone in the shop rude dismissive, or disinterested in my needs.
We also talked a bit about how I might benefit from more relaxed geometry as I'm getting older, not younger. He showed me some bikes, answered some questions but never made me feel like he was upsetting me into a new bike.
He listened and took a genuine interest in my immediate needs while also helping me plan for future investments.
If you're interested in a good shop with a good mechanic and a shop that genuinely cares about your personal cycling needs, give this place a try and ignore the handful if negative reviews. 20+ years riding and never met a kinder more...
Read moreWent to ask about extending the handlebar adjustment and see if we could make an appointment for install as Rob made our bikes usable again last year with tune ups and some suggestions for different ergonomics. Rather than an appointment they found the part we needed and told us to come back right before close (in 25 minutes). The bike had the new part (and one other I asked about) mounted and ready to go. When we met Rob one of the first thing he said to us was "These bikes are completely wrong for you" and he was right. I would have very easily spent a grand or so getting the right ones for us, but he took the time to explain the issues he saw, and then presented options to transform our trek bikes into what we needed at 20% the cost of new. He made sure with the work there was room to adjust further (which we just did on one). We went from a grands worth of bicycles hanging in the garage to riding every weekend. I cannot thank Rob enough for making it possible for us to get back on the bikes. Last weekend 15 miles on the loop and getting...
