TANIA’S Mexican Food IS ONE OF THE BEST!!! Hands down!!!
As a matter of introduction, I’m a transplant to the state of Arizona by way of the military. That said, I’ve been exposed to many states and countries for that matter. Been blessed to dine and enjoy the most exquisite culinary experiences around the world. I can humbly say I’m a self proclaimed foodie at heart, to and through!
While in Tucson, Arizona I discovered Mexican food on a different level. I excitedly and diligently explored the flavors in the local area. Many restaurants try to express and present their version of Latin food from regions of Mexico familiar to their family's roots. To say the least, over the years, it has been an interesting ride to taste the unique flavors presented to me.
I’m just an old seasoned 46 year old and of Latin decent myself, (Mexican/American) and had been raised by mom and dad’s delicious home cooked Mexican food. I consider myself somewhat of a subject matter expert on Mexican food by default! Haha
While establishing my personal opinion of Tucson Mexican food, I feel as if my tastebuds have been truly put through the test of time. Several years ago, while in the Air Force stationed at Davis Monthan Air Force Base, I stumbled upon Tania’s Mexican Food tucked away in the beautiful neighborhoods of “Southside” Tucson AZ. Residents in and around these neighborhoods have their loyalty to good food. And as a true testament to their passion, Tania’s Mexican Food won the heart’s and stomachs of many!
When I first tried their food, I felt as if I was tasting food coming from one of the most experienced Mexican family’s kitchen! Kinda like that grandma we all wish would never stop cooking with her recipes she perfected for many years!
Tania’s has been in the business for 40 years and it MOST definitely shows! I’ve tried Everything...from their tortillas, to their salsas and leading up to their carne (meat)& many other delicious dishes. I can genuinely say, as a TRUE testament to their dedication and commitment to serving some of the best Mexican food available in sunny Tucson, Arizona, Tania’s Wholeheartedly DELIVERS!!!!!
Sahuarita, Arizona is now really blessed to have this beautiful restaurant in the community. Please Cherish it and let’s keep them in business for many years to come!!! You’ll be pleasantly satisfied to give them a try.
P.S. the staff in Tania’s are Awesome!!! They make me smile AND know the way to my heart is definitely through my stomach!!!! ;-)
Thanks for your time. ~ René Marquez aka...
Read moreThe Birria tacos are very good. That being said, I would only order breakfast burritos and the Birria tacos. I ordered the number 30 (flautas) and it states its topped with lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, and comes with sour cream, guacamole and salsa. I open the box and it's 3 bare flautas with a tiny pile of lettuce and about 6 shreds of cheese next to the flautas. No guacamole, sour cream, or salsa. I ate them but had to pull my own condiments from the fridge. I called to explain my frustration and asked for a manager. The girl at the front (which was very kind and pleasant) told me "the manager is NOT here right now". You have got to be kidding me. Who do I express to that this is my 3rd experience and it has been a disappointment in some way every time. I just wish I could get my money back for the flautas, like I said the birria tacos were very good.
EDIT Changing my rating. The owner contacted me and was very pleasant. She helped me out and was very...
Read moreHad their mexican plate, enchilada/ tamale/ taco/ beans and rice. Tamale was excellent except I don't like green olives in mine but for sure will pick up half doz next trip out. Beef enchilada, meat was good and can tell sauce homemade instead of from a can. Beef taco was filled and tasty. Fairly small portion of beans and rice but that's okay as was plenty full afterwards - wife had mexican nacho plate, said was good, tasted her carne asada and was good. She said bathroom was clean, to her a clean bathroom says a lot about the business. She bought some little piggies pastries, her fav, and said were delicious - for very sure will return again to try out another thing on their menu. Very satisfied with this place, is for sure one of best in Sahuarita or Green Valley. The counter/ service lady was courteous and helpful. Only reason for not giving full stars review was because of limited food selections that have tried out(...
