Vinces Sandwich Shop — Restaurant in Saint Augustine

This really is a solid sandwich shop. Very nice people. I ordered 2 Cuban sandwiches. I am a Tampa Bay resident of 40 years and we certainly have the real authentic Cuban sandwiches. Vinces has the ingredients right but that's where it stops. It isn't on Cuban bread, instead its on a sub roll. It was hot so that was good. I asked if they pressed them? She said yes But pressed to them is smashed and warmed. Not truly pressed. So while the sandwiches were OK. They are not really Cuban sandwiches. And to be honest at $11.95 per you get what would be considered a small Cuban. A large real Cuban is typically $15 these days. You get a sandwich that wants to be a Cuban at Vinces, has a large Cuban sandwich price and falls very short. You just don't to call a sandwich a Cuban when you use sub rolls. Don’t be mistaken by this restaurants 4.8 stars, I can assure you it’s a 5 STAR eating establishment. My first experience was unbelievable. After being recommended to eat here I mistakenly proceeded to show up over an hour after closing (I don’t recommend nor will I do this again) and instead of being kicked to the curb I was kindly greeted and asked to take a look at the menu of what was available. I placed my order and when my sandwich was ready instead of being showed the door those working showed interest in what I did for a living and also recommended easier ways for me to order with my colleagues. This bridge is an experience of history for the United States! It has been well kept up through the years and during holiday season's it's very beautiful. From north to south I have walked the seawall and over the bridge and back for exercise many many times. It's honestly one of my favorite walks because I love it. I've taken many pictures from this bridge of both the water and down town Flagler buildings etc. They are cherished pics. Anytime I see the bridge Captain I wave and he waves back as they are always on the alert for ships and travelers before the drawbridge goes up.
