Mr. Meowski's Sourdough — Restaurant in Saint Charles

Mr. Meowski's is a Saint Charles gem. It's the place we refer friends and family to when they visit, it's the place we drop by before special occasions, it's what the adults look forward to and the kids love.

We've been frequenting Meowski for years and first fell in love with the legit croissants (not just "good for the Midwest" if you know what I mean).

Since Meowski has moved to the new Main Street spot with the adorably vintage store front they've been able to offer more selection for longer (no more selling out before 9am!) and we've tried so many delicious items.

My favorite is the Kouign-amann which is on my list of last meal items if that gives you any idea of my die-hard Stan-ship. My husband is obsessed with the Wednesdays only Detroit style pizza that somehow combines sourdough and just-spicy-enough-sauce to make the most craveable thick square slices. The kids ask for their handmade pop-tarts weekly, and I have to admit that Meowski chocolate chip cookies slay even harder than mine.

Mr. Meowski's is on a short list of local small businesses that make us proud to live in this quaint town on the river. It's a must visit if you're stopping by on a road trip or if you're on an STL bakery exploration (been there). There's nothing else quite like the quality you get from handmade artists at Mr....

You're best off placing your orders ahead (their website makes it easy!) because they seem to sell out often. Yes, their items are that good. The sourdough bread was amazing. I didn't think I liked sourdough until I ate this. Pizza is only made on the occasional Wednesday, and I caught the rare opportunity to order when I saw a Facebook notification. IT'S WORTH THE WAIT. When it's available, order as soon as you see the post. They will sell out quickly. You have to pick it up and eat elsewhere. Again, IT'S WORTH IT. The sourdough crust is unique and crazy good. The pepperoni and cheese are top-notch ingredients (I think they only use the best of everything.) But the crust edges are somehow magical. Chewy, cheesy perfection. We fought over the last piece.😂 The cookies I picked up on my way out (because I was weak), ALSO WORTH IT. By far the best chocolate chip cookies we have ever eaten other than our own. My husband ate my last bite of cookie that I was saving (he thought I was done) and I was broken.😂 He never likes anyone's cookies, so I was caught off guard. OH - I almost forgot the staff! This was my first time here, & I can say Mr Meowski’s is 100% worth all of the hype & attention it is receiving. Everything was so fresh & full of flavor. If you like berry pies, the fruit pop tart is a must. All of the croissants were incredible, & arguably the best I’ve ever had. I haven’t tried the sourdough yet, but based on everything else I tasted, I am sure it will be amazing. Most importantly, the owner & his co-workers were incredibly welcoming, kind, & professional. From the moment you walk in, you are treated with kindness & appreciation. I had to wait just a few minutes to receive a fresh loaf of sourdough, which was still warm from baking.
