Mastro's Ice Cream — Restaurant in Saint Clair Shores

The place does not open until 1pm I got there around 12:40 thinking they should be open. I'm new to the Area and love going to local businesses to help keep there business thriving. Well there was no hours of operation up so I had google the business to find out the hours since it said 1pm I figured to wait the 20 mins. Well it Was not worth the wait. The prices was way over priced. I got a 16oz Reese's flurry which costed 6.75$ and sad to say they made it with soft serve Icecream so once I stepped outside it was melting all outside of the cup it was a mess. The young lady was nice who took my order and answered my questions. They advertise Strohs Icecream but you can see the icecream barrel and it said Dean's Icecream. I asked why the prices were so high and she said because they use premium Icecream Strohs so thats why I mentioned seeing Deans. Thought that was very misleading and she said Strohs bought out Dean's. I left it alone with her she is just a worker and she did answer the questions as best as she could. I don't mind paying higher price for premium goods but I do mind paying higher prices for cheaper products and misleading costumers just to make a quick buck. If they would have been honest and fair with pricing and product information I would have been a repeating costumer all summer long spending hundreds instead of 6.75$ So Thank you for saving me...

Prices are best in show, blue ribbon winner here! For as high as they can be that is, one scoop is $5. A 20oz. Boston Cooler $8.02 which came to 9.50 after $1 tip and tax... I don't get how it's 47 cents to get 4 oz more for a medium yet it's $6 to get 12 oz more for a large. What math is that?! Won't be back again we'll stick to Country Dairy right down the road, waaaaaaayyyyy more affordable and a better menu with so many more options. Faster their also, the line we waited in we almost didn't but stuck around. The Boston Cooler we got just tasted like a vanilla malt with caramel maybe idk but they're is supposed to be Vernors and I didn't see that come in anywhere. Ooooooh yeah I almost forgot, there was a guy holding the door for people and looking at his phone that seemed like he'd be better put to use behind the counter helping out there. Most people that walked in thought he was a customer trying to leave. All the door holding made it hot in there also being it did hit 80...

Very racist place. My girlfriend and I came in for some ice cream. I work in retail so I am always polite to cashiers because I know how difficult customers are. My girlfriend is white and I am not. The old lady was so sweet and nice to her. Which is funny because my girlfriend didn't even really say anything to her. I was extremely polite and saying please and thank you so much. The old lady was just completely horrendous towards me. Didn't answer me when I spoke to her, gave me not even a full scoop of ice cream when I ordered a double scoop, while saying thank you and giving my girlfriend who is white more ice cream. She was absolutely awful and the only time she did say anything to me was "here". No you're welcome, nor thank you, no eye contact; yet was saying all these polite things to my white girlfriend. Very disappointed...
