Disappointed and Done with Taco Town
What can I say—this place has really gone downhill. I used to love coming to Taco Town, but lately, the food and service just aren’t worth it anymore. This isn’t the first time my order has been wrong or the staff has been unprofessional, but this time I’ve had enough.
After working two jobs, I stopped by around 9 PM hoping to grab some good food and unwind. When I got home, I realized my meal was missing the rice and beans that were clearly listed on the website. Instead, there were two extra flautas—which might’ve been okay, if they weren’t burnt beyond edible.
Since it was close to closing time, I tried calling the restaurant to let them know. Someone answered, then hung up. After that, my calls went straight to voicemail.
I called the next day and spoke with a young lady with glasses who was very sweet and understanding. She apologized and offered a refund, but because I paid with a card and it was the next day, she said they could only give me a cash refund. So, I went back to get it.
When I arrived, she said she spoke with the manager who decided they wouldn’t refund me, but would remake the meal instead. I agreed, although I expressed my frustration with how the previous order was handled—especially the lack of clear communication about the missing sides and the burnt flautas.
As I was speaking to her, another staff member seemed irritated and dismissive. They remade the food and showed it to me before I left. At first glance, it looked okay—but when I got home, I realized the flautas were undercooked. They were practically raw, like they’d been tossed in oil for 30 seconds and pulled right back out. Not crispy, not done—just not right.
At that point, I gave up. I had to take off the toppings and re-fry them myself. This kind of poor quality and inconsistent service has happened more than once, and unfortunately, I won’t be...
Read moreToday, I went with my mom and my brother to eat. Everything was very good until we received the tamales. I decided to set my tacos aside to try them, and they were refrigerator cold. I let the waitress know that they were cold, and her words were, 'Let me see if we can change it for you.' When someone says that, you imagine they will bring you new, hot ones. After a few minutes of waiting, she finally brought them back, and we realized they were the same ones because the part I had tried was missing. The lettuce was dehydrated, as if they had simply put it in the microwave with the lettuce still on it. Do you know how unpleasant it is to eat warm lettuce? It’s worth mentioning that when we received the plate, the lettuce looked fresh and was at room temperature. We told the waitress what was happening, and she took the plate away, returning to say that we would have to pay for it because I had 'asked for it to be just heated up.' As someone who has worked in restaurants for a long time, the most logical thing would be to change the entire plate and at least pretend you heated it by removing the old lettuce and putting in new. In the end, they forced us to pay for something we didn’t consume, and on top of that, they tried to cover their actions with, 'I did it because that’s what you told me,' which, by the way, is not professional at all and shows a lack of ethics.
In short, I don’t think I will return since we spent over $40, and the service...
Read moreBest Mexican restaurant in St. Cloud! I'll call it as is! The lengua is on point!!! Slightly seared on one side but completely juicy on the rest. Appropriately, good pieces of lengua cooked to perfection. Some local carts dry the heck out of lengua & try to serve you days old lengua. That's not the case at this establishment!
The gordita was crispy on the outside and like a sponge on the inside to absorb the wonderful flavors. I personally opted out of the beans. I ate 1/3 for lunch, that's how big it is.
Then there's the mangolada...100% mangos & other ingredients served with slightly sweetened tamarind sauce with a hint of spice inside on the rim and candy.
The staff were very polite, courteous and answered all my questions. It was very clean and families were dining in. I also loved the vegetarian options like, mushrooms, beans or nopales (cactus) they had available.
The only negative I could mention is that once before I ordered delivery and whilst the food was just as fresh, I felt it was a bit lacking in flavor. Some people may not appreciate or can stomach the true authentic flavors of Mexico, but that's their problem. They can ask for mild/flavorless. When I order, I want Mexico. Adding sauces is nice, but nothing beats having the meat already marinated/seasoned. I understand and appreciate the business model and will still...
