Aunt Ebby's Ice Cream — Restaurant in Saint George Island

It’s a place that serves great ice cream near the beach - hard to screw up. ;-) Small but enjoyable.

Went twice with family and friends. Had an excellent Coke float the first time and a milkshake the second. Everyone was happy with their ice creams and we all enjoyed ourselves.

The only ding is that they - like most businesses in the area - make it a point not to accept American Express. I understand they don’t want to pay the higher AmEx fees but this place used Square as their register which definitely takes AmEx and, unless I’m mistaken, charges merchants the same rate for all cards. But, again, I could be wrong. I just want to be able to pay for stuff...

ICE CREAM LOVER'S WELCOME TO HEAVEN! The ice cream is so fresh tasting like it's churned below. Im a big customer service guy and enjoy the pleasant smiles of people enjoying their jobs and this place embodies that notion. They treat you like family and there's a girl there that has an accent that's worth the visit. My favs are the (strawberry) MILKSHAKES, which are made to perfection. Not too milky, not too thick. Make the visit if you like ice cream or milkshakes cause you'll regret it...

This is going to be an unpopular opinion based on the reviews, but this place was just ok. The ice creams are not all homemade. There are some options, but they're limited, and it was fine, but not that noteworthy.

That said, the team behind the counter were super nice and very fast. Prices were comparable to other beach town ice cream spots.

It is upstairs. So if you have difficulty climbing stairs, this might not be the place for you. It was very crowded, but there aren't many...
