SIT WHERE THERE ARE FANS! NO LIQUOR SOLD HERE.
Don't forget, the oysters aren't local. The local ordinances shut down oyster harvesting from the Bay due to over-harvesting. Not a big deal, but overheard someone ask a waiter and he said he didn't know where they were coming from.
Outdoor seating, typical of most restaurants on the island, but it is bayside, so it is very muggy & due to the general swampiness of the area, the gnats, flies, & mosquitos were horrible. There was zero airflow/wind as we were sat at the table by the kitchen outside on the gravel, where there were no fans. At that same table, the smell coming from the kitchen was disgusting. I understand it was the oysters/seafood & there is always going to be a stench, but there could at least be one fan near our section that could be moving the air/smell away from us. I got the Mahi Fish Tacos, they were not good. It was two soft tacos, loaded down with cabbage. The actual strips of fish were long but very thin and super dry. There was supposed to be a salsa of some sort, but it must have been forgotten because they were drier than the Sahara & as tasteless as sand. Some family ordered the oysters, they said they were good, but hard to enjoy hot cooked oysters when you are literally sweating and smacking away bugs from it. There is a bar, but they do not serve liquor. All they could offer was canned seltzers, like a High Noon (vodka seltzer). It was an average size 12 fl oz can for $6 a can.....yes, $6 lololol. I could understand $6 for a tall boy but not for a 12oz can. (for example, you can get an 8 pack for $16-$20 @ the Piggly Wiggly on the Island) This didn't get included with my rating as it was not the fault of the restaurant, but also in the back where we were sat, there are some cattail plants (swampy area) and some stray children decided to start playing with them/busting them open. It caused it to look like it was snowing, as those annoying little white fluffs were floating in the air allllll around us. got in our drinks, food, eyes, nose, etc. bc we were all sweating, they stuck to our skin as well.
The younger bartender (tall, dark haired female) was...

My wife and I have been loyal patrons of your establishment for many years, and as island residents for half the year, we've always enjoyed our visits to Paddy's. However, our experience today was quite shocking and unlike any we've had before.
Initially, my wife found a hair in her food, which our server promptly handled. A few moments later, we witnessed another customer who waited for quite some time for a beer at the bar and she did express her frustration to the bar tender and made a comment which sure, could’ve been more appropriate but I totally understood. The bartender wrote her off immediately. After that, she ended up receiving cold food. While this can happen, we were dismayed by the bartender's response, who immediately gave the customer an attitude and got sarcastic with her. The customer was concerned about sending her food back and the bartender told the customer in a sarcastic tone, "I can send it back; they won’t spit in your food."
The customer then requested to speak with a manager, who responded rudely and dismissively and wouldn’t even stay long enough to hear her side, refusing to believe her, all over a $15 dish. The customer wished to pay, but the manager told her she was "fine," and the customer left in disbelief. The customer had on headphones because she just wanted her peace while dining and after leaving the staff and surrounding customers continued to talk poorly of her to others listening.
We are unsure why this transpired as it did, but the staff's reaction was unprofessional and rude. We believe Paddy's is better than this, and we hope you will address...
Read moreI don’t think I’ve ever in my life had a worst experience in a 4 star beach restaurant than this one… the second we got there I should’ve turned around after the host was incredibly rude to us (first time ever being here by the way) not only that it’s pouring down raining and they sit us OUTSIDE on WET benches that are soaked (it’s like I jumped in a pool after I got up) I asked to move and they put us at ANOTHER outside table and the host seemed terribly offended I didn’t wanna sit in the rain… then here comes the worst part… the waiter… who checked on us 4 times in an hour span (two of those were to get his check, which we had to yell at him across the restaurant to get our check) forgot to ring in our food… and forgot we even existed…. I’m a young guy too with a lot of patience who’s worked in the food industry but this was bar none my worst experience eating out ever….
Don’t even get me started about the bugs in outside seating as well I was eaten alive while I waited on my waiter to get a grip…
The food was the best part… but good food with terrible services kills the whole experience… I will...
