Edit 2/2023: It doesn't look like it's a new location issue. They've had plenty of time to get things running semi-relatively-smoothly. We ordered delivery this time, it took nearly two hours to get here, we got a large pizza of the month and two medium pizzas and the large was missing entirely. They still won't answer the phone. We drove out to the store and they weren't taking any more orders for the night (initial order was placed just after 6pm). We also contacted ChowNow (service the delivery is placed through) and about an hour later they were able to get that portion refunded, but it was still just disappointing. You want to support local when you can, but it's just not always worth it. I can't remember what a hot pizza from Rigatti's tastes like, but they cost 2-3 times more. I did still tip of course!
Edit 1/21: So the new location might want to work out some kinks. I ordered curbside, got there early because I came straight from work and figured I'd just check in early and chill out until it was ready-- I called the number three times in 15 minutes and it just rang out each time. Obviously they're pretty busy on a Friday afternoon, and it's a new setup so I'm not too worried about waiting a bit, but I decided to just go inside to wait thinking maybe it would be easier on them if they don't have to send someone out to the pickup area. They had my order ready and it felt lukewarm, like it had already been sitting out for 10 minutes getting cold. (It was right around the estimated pickup time when I went in.) It was still good, but it really wasn't the freshest and it's expensive pizza-- the kind you get for a special Friday date night to watch Boba Fett, you know? I would just maybe not recommend ordering curbside for now, which is unfortunate if you're trying to avoid exposure (my mom is going through chemo). We also live ten minutes out so delivery is not an option, but it's on my way home so curbside seemed a great choice.
Riggatti's does it differently. The wood-fired aspect is way cool, not only to watch them throw down some dough and incinerate it in an oven seemingly capable of destroying human DNA, but it also gives you a great smokey taste.
If you're wondering if it's "kind of like Brick Oven", no. No it is not. It is Riggatti's. You shut your mouth.
I can attest that they've had some excellent employees, and the atmosphere is honestly just friendly. Things occasionally come out a little more blackened at the edges than you may want if you're not metal enough to handle it. But it's tasty stuff, it's good quality, and the bread dipping sauce is like hnnnnng.
Riggatti's can be a bit pricier than the usual college fare, but honestly they've got some deals that truly aren't bad if you wanna check out the...
Read moreI want to start off by saying the pizza here is very delicious. The crust is thin, crispy, and is cooked so good in a fire brick oven. My problem with this place is the staff and the wait times for pizza. I have been here previously and waited an hour for pizza, so we made sure to call way ahead this time. Over the phone, she gave us a wait time of 50 minutes. However, when we went to pick it up it wasn't ready and took another 30 minutes. The entire staff, particularly the man cooking the pizza, seemed to hate their lives. They all loved slowly and argued the whole time. I could just feel the stress seeping out of them. They did not work well as a team together. As I was waiting for our pizza, the wait time went up to 2 hours. They just kept saying, "sorry, it's a Friday night." I get that Fridays are busy, but if they worked more quickly and were organized as a team, it wouldn't have to be that long. They also kept storing cooked pizzas on top of the tall oven which made no sense as they could easily fall. I watched many customers get angry as the wait time took longer and longer. I ended up being the one to point out that I was pretty sure my pizzas we're ready. One pizza was hot out of the oven while the other 3 were cold and hard by that point.
I really like the pizza here, however I will not go back due to the disorganization of the staff and the long wait times as a consequence. The pizza isn't cheap either, most pizzas are around $15 for a large (14"). Next time, I'll just go to Papa John's or Pizza Hut where the pizza is still filling, half the price, and a fraction of...
Read moreNewest review: June. Lots of people working there chatting it up but there’s no soap or paper towels in the restrooms. The condiments glass containers on table are not full and look dirty. The windows are filthy. There’s flies inside you need to constantly fan away from your food. The salad bar is a mess and needs a filler up. The pizza sizes were small vs some large for the lunch special. Idk if we’ll come back here until it’s cleaner and they care.
Old review: My family and I love Riggatti‘s wood fired pizza. We usually go to the location in Washington, but we want to try the W. Sunset Blvd. location. The outside of the building looks really cool. The inside is small with a small patio. The salad bar is clean and fully stocked. We came here on a day off from school and enjoyed their lunch.
Order: I had their margarita pizza with salad bar. This is my go to order but Ryan working the register suggested to add pepperoni and I did and it was so good. Pepperoni pizza with salad, bar, cheese pizza with salad bar, and a cheese pizza. 4 soda fountain drinks.
Ryan also recommended their Alfredo pizza, peach cobbler, and Ch-Bacon Sticks that we will try next visit.
All in all you can’t go wrong with Riggatti’s. The food is always so good. This is my kids, favorite pizza place. They will devour the whole thing. We certainly get our moneys worth here and everyone leaves full and happy. I...
