The best way to describe our experience at Lime Inn is to say that if you want mediocre food for exorbitant prices, this is the place to eat. The food wasn't bad, it just wasn't that good. We had the clam chowder and French onion soup- literally about 1cup of soup, the sushi crab salad( which my daughter actually really liked), the hog in the buffalo(which is lots of Buffalo with a sliver ofprosciutto, and the bubu salad (which was just ok) for our appetizers. For the mains, I had the Careibean lobster, risotto and broccoli. The lobster was very tough and had no seasoning at all and the same can be said for the risotto. It was completely devoid of any flavor or seasoning as well. My husband and daughter had the Basilica del Mar and tho the actual seafood was good, there were fragments of mussel shell throughout the pasta that rendered that portion of the dish inedible. They were offered another entree but we had already been in the restaurant for 2 hours at this point. Dessert was our favorite part of the meal. The key pie, tho very tart, was delicious and the chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream was scrumptious. At the end of our meal, when my husband received the check, he was somewhat shocked that the two inedible entrees had not been taken off the bill. He spoke with the manager, who was very rude and curtly told my husband that he had offered him another entree(mind you, it was after 10pm by the time we got or entrees and our reservation had begun at 8pm) and offered no apologies whatsoever.

So, the moral of the story is, highly over-priced and over-rated. You can get better, more flavorful food at a...

Travelled specifically from St. Thomas to St. John for this place and their tasting menu. Did not disappoint. Atmosphere was cozy island, but most people were dressed on the nicer side of casual.

The service was outstanding - the bartender/head of service was all you could want. Her nickname was Bubu, and she was incredible: attentive, quick, passionate, knowledgeable. She made sure to describe each course in-depth and helped heighten our enjoyment with a thorough explanation of the ingredients (many local to the USVI), the thought process in making the dish, and the ways everything worked together and was prepared.

Cocktails were top notch. We were warned that the 6-course menu was a lot of food, but we felt up to the challenge. It WAS a lot of food, and we didn't regret it at all. Each course was delicious and most featured 3 separate items...we basically ate all of the items in the appetizer menu! My wife got the local catch of the day (wahoo) and I got the Caribbean lobster. I won't bite everyone with my descriptions haha, but everything was so good, especially the lobster.

The desserts capped off a great meal, and I enjoyed the semi-frozen key lime pie the most (just don't complain to Bubu that it is still partially frozen and that the kitchen did something wrong haha).

Already looking forward to going back next time we're...

Please check your tacos if you request to remove an item due to dietary restrictions or food allergies. Unfortunately, I won't return to this establishment due to this issue. You pay $10 per taco, so it should be made to order the correct way.

When we placed our order, I asked Mark, our server, for no cheese on my taco order. He said that wouldn't be a problem. When our tacos arrived, I noticed one of my tacos had feta cheese on it. I informed Mark, and he said there was no cheese. I pointed it out to him, and he looked annoyed he had to take it back. When he bought it back out, I noticed they removed the feta cheese that was noticeable, but there was still feta cheese at the bottom of the taco. I couldn't believe they tried to give me the same taco. The manager offered to give me a different taco, however, I asked to remove this taco from the bill. I definitely don't appreciate the dishonesty. Mark never apologized for his mistake, and hopefully, he doesn't do this with his other customers.

I left two stars because my husband enjoyed his drink and two tacos, however, he still felt hungry after we departed.

Please beware in case you have someone in your party with food allergies or dietary restrictions. Food allergies can lead to serious consequences and ruin your vacation. Unfortunately, we won't be back to this...

Lime Inn used to be a prix fixe restaurant. Now, it’s a land-based version of Lime Out, the floating taco bar in Coral Bay. Like most restaurants in St. John, it’s open to the outside, which means it’s the perfect temperature all the time. We went in (12/29/23) for a couple margaritas. It was nicely crowded, but everyone was friendly, and some folks moved around so we could sit at the bar together. There’s lovely table seating, as well, but it was fun to sit at the bar and watch the skilled bartenders create their magic! Despite the crowd, the staff was pleasant and accommodating. We got the “nene” margarita and the grapefruit margarita. Both were fresh and flavorful. Good pour on the tequila, but very smooth. We split one more of the grapefruit margaritas. We also had a “cowabunga” (braised short rib, blackened shrimp, pickled onions, feta) taco and a “tuna matata” (jerk tuna, pineapple, jicama relish, slaw) taco, whimsically named and delicious. The tacos aren’t cheap ($10 to $14 each), but from a flavor standpoint, they are absolutely worth it. If it was all you were eating, you might want a second, but honestly, there was so much yumminess, we left feeling very satisfied. We’ll definitely go back on our next trip.
