Although I paid for a fountain soda which cost near three dollars, I never got a refill or was even greeted by my waitress again. Maybe the soda didn't have free refills. Was only given one napkin. I sat there for almost five minutes at the counter and never received a response from either one of their waitstaff. They obviously have there usual customers and may not like someone from out of town., The regulars were greeted and served like you should be. I've cooked in many restaurants over many years. The eggs I asked for were to be over medium, which means whites cooked firm and yokes runny. I got over hard eggs ( yokes broken and fried all the way through.) I know they boil the potatoes with skins on and then try to fry them on a flat grill .Wet skins make the potatoes soggy and boiling them makes them almost tasteless. You should bake ,then peel the skins, then fry on the flat griddle until crisp. Their fresh {frozen then baked) toast was hit with a brush of already melted butter? (Margarine)?.. on one spot on the bottom, again soggy. Three stars for one of two of their waitstaff that took my order ,zero for the other.

Even the customers that were regular's ( party of 4 ) lunged at the local paper I was given while waiting at the counter 15 minutes to get my bill after I discarded my meal to the side.

May have been good back in the day. Disappointed Vermonter...

We went out to breakfast this morning with our three children because they are on school break. I called to make sure they were opened before we left our house because we are having a snow storm and got very rude service on the phone. I let it go and we went down, when we got there we were pointed to a table and ignored, not offered drinks or even given silverware because the ONE women who was there was talking to friends. We were ignored until I finally told her we were ready to order because she still hadnt come over and it had been a good ten minutes. She finally brought silverware and got our drink and food orders. They then didn't have straws at the restaurant today. When our food came it was very plain food, with small portions, and not really well cooked. We finished and I looked at the check FIFTY DOLLARS. We asked why the bill was so high because our four meals were all 525 besides one being 595 and we all shared with our 20 month old so she didn't get anything but an extra plate. We asked why it was so much and were told it was probably the drinks that killed us because they were 350. THE DRINKS ARE CHILD SIZED! All around the food was subpar, the service was pretty awful, and the prices were horrendous. I will not return with my family and we eat breakfast at diners EVERY morning. Everyone go to the Miss...

I used to love this place. I grew up in the area and still travel there several times a year. It was convenient to stop there on my way out to grab my dinner. I liked their homemade fries and the burgers were pretty good. Something has changed though because now they are picking and choosing their customers. Two different times I was told they could not serve me because I was not dining in. You would think that would make them happy because they can sell me food plus use the booth for another paying customer. I told them that I didn't expect my food faster than the people dining in, but that I didn't 30 minutes to waste waiting for the food and then be expected to sit and eat it for another 30 minutes or so when I could grab the food and eat it as I drove. It does not matter, they only want dining in customers. I'm assuming because the waitresses lose out on tips? Otherwise, that makes no sense and I have never heard of diners turning down customers before. The bottom line is that I will never eat there again and I no longer recommend to people...

Anthony's Diner, they have a very regular crowd, you could say, "the early birds". My fiance and I went there at 6:30 pm and were happy to have the place mostly to ourselves. Our Server, Grace, was INCREDIBLE. She welcomed us graciously, let us choose our own table, informed us of the specials and drinks. When I asked if they possibly had scallops (not listed on the menu or specials) she said, "let me check as sometimes on the weekends we have scallops on special"...when she came back to my extreme delight they had scallops!!! The FRENCH FRIES were literally TO DIE FOR better than at "The County Fair" fries, and dare I say, even better than Al's French fries (iykyk)! As for the shrimp, scallops, and haddock: for the northeast corner of Vermont (a landlocked state) I have NEVER had BETTER. My fiance had a Chicken Caesar Wrap which was exceptionally good. I think having Grace as our server made the whole experience even better. Thank you Grace, we will be returning customers.

Awesome experience here. Good food , good service. Everything came out perfect. This mom and pop style restaurant has good homestyle cooked foods to choose from... *Price per plate above average *Good for couples *Good for families *Good for singles * Good for a small bite You come in and seat yourself, a waitress will come to your table and take your drink orders. Place your order for your main entrees when ready. Once your food comes out ... ENJOY 😃 after your meal don't forget to check out their desert's available, we tried the "coconut dream" And it was DELICIOUS 😍 After your meal and desert is done don't forget to tip your server good if you were happy with the service. If you are in the area and looking for good food definitely try this restaurant out. Our meals turned out perfect and we plan to return and try something else on their menu. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day 😆👍👍
