To the management of this particular store at 320 N Belt âWhy do you have an admitted policy of putting DoorDash drivers, and by extension, their customersâalso YOUR customersâas the lowest priorityâeven going so far after your lobby closes late at night to make a DoorDash driver with two separate orders go back through and wait in your typically 10 to 15 car-long drive-through a SECOND time to pick up his other order like you did to me on Dec. 14 shortly after 11:30 P.M.?!
I mean, I fully understand from other experiences delivering with Taco Bell and McDonald's in St. Joe that fast food managers in this town somehow frequently forget the fact we are helping you sell your food by delivering it (which pays next to nothing as it is) and you could not care less that you waste our time with your policies of putting our orders at the lowest priority by default. But this is absolutely maddening.
I pulled up to the drive through, waited nearly 20 minutes until the ten-car long line progressed far enough that I could even tell them I had a DoorDash order, as soon as I began to move forward I got a second order.
In another ten minutes or so, when I finally got to the window to pick up the first, I told them about the second order and was told I'd have to go back around since the order wasn't ready yet. I questioned why I couldn't wait like everyone else that I just had to wait on myself. She said I just would have to go back around.
I would have unassigned the order but I was having trouble DoorDah's app and could not even continue with my first order, so I had to wait in line another 15 minutes or longer and go through again, and finally be able to leave your store and get on with both deliveries.
But what's even more irritating about this, is that when I pulled up the second time the same girl said my order was not ready and that I'll have to wait a minute!
I asked why she made me go around their drive-through a second time if I could have waited. And she said well I'm sorry but that's what I was told. I asked her if it was Taco Bell's policy and she said that was what her manager told her!
That was nearly AN ENTIRE HOUR it took just to PICK UP my two orders that made me $8, not to mention the gas and time to deliver them both. Why do you do this? WE ARE NOT YOUR EMPLOYEES, that you can tell to wait. We are there to pick up YOUR CUSTOMERS' FOOD. Whoever your manager is, that person is an idiot.
I think I'll try to not accept any more orders from Taco Bell, but if I do and this happenes again, tell your manager that I will not be moving and going back through the drive through. In fact, because of you, I spent nearly two hours, plus gas expenses to make $8. And to think it was to help you make money after you've done me this way? I would say that I'll never accept an order from your store, but the next time I get an order for you and you pull this I assure you I WILL NOT move my car until I receive all my orders, then I'll also have "car trouble" right in front of your drive-through. It'll be the darndest thing, it'll be a transmission problem and I'm thinking it'll be locked up so that I can't even roll it out of the way. If you want to play it that...

Me being annoyed I went right back through the drivethru and presented my receipt showing that that was not my order and they took my receipt saying they'd give me the correct food and asked if I could pull to the side of the building and they'd bring it out to me. They made me wait another 10 minutes in the car with no ac on top of the 15 minutes I had already been there to order and wait to fix my order. So I go inside to get my order out of sheer loss of patience. I get it, I leave, I get home aannnndd...wouldn't you know itđ AGAIN, it's not my order. Staff seems nice and friendly but only saw 2 people in the entire place...understaffed from what I can tell?...(workers didn't appear slow or lazy). I cant even count the number of cars I've seen abandon the drive through line the past few months (3 ahead of me left just tonight), after they reach their limit of acceptable wait time with no line movement. (I've left twice recently myself and I'm pretty patient, knowing they're busy and short staffed). Tonight was the last straw, I will now begin to go elsewhere to eat, or to the north belt TB because even with the longer drive time, it will still be faster overall. Hopefully they get this issue with ownership/management/staffing resolved soon and then perhaps people like myself will give them another try. Food was good however.
