This restaurant used to be really really good however I visited here 3 days ago and was super disappointed in the food, service and taste of the food in general as well as prices have gone up a lot but, I have come to expect that with covid ect and restaurants in general. When we visited 3 days ago we ordered our lunch of sesame chicken and general tso chicken as well as 2 extra egg rolls and 6 dumplings. The egg rolls and dumplings were appetizers..or was supposed to have been anyways...we arrived at 12:20 and typically in the past we've always gotten our food in about 15 minutes or so...food was very hot and good..this time around we didn't get our food until 1:10 pm...really long times and they were not busy at all.. Our egg rolls didn't come until 1:05 and our dumplings weren't brought until 1:12 pm...we had asked where they were when the egg rolls were brought and told they were coming and that it takes about 10 to 15 minutes to make???? Well, that timeline was off...especially when they were ordered at 1220 and I'll even allow time to put the order in...even if it was 12:30 before it was entered it was still entirely too long.... Our server never came by to update us or ask if we needed anything or even apologize it was taking so long like other restaurants do...then the food taste just wasn't there like before..it wasn't as hot and the rice wasn't fresh tasting as it should have been. Overall it was disappointing especially for the price we had to pay... I hope it gets better but, it will be awhile before we go...
Read moreUnfortunately had a bad experience with them this weekend. Ordered Hunan Fried Rice. When asked how spicy I wanted out of 4, I went 2 for a nice baseline. Crab Rangoon and Eggdrop soup.
Rangoon was meh. Good but not the best. Soup the same (no crunchy bits to put in it was a little let down)
But the rice? The rice was a disaster. The portion was generous but as soon as I opened the box I was shocked by how much veg was in it. I've never seen so much carrot in fried rice in my life. Between that and the onions...it was crunchy. Fried rice should NEVER be crunchy. That and it sucked all the flavor out of it...was soooo bland. Zero spice. Zero flavor. Horrible texture.
I tried salvaging it with the extra packets of soy sauce (never had to use those in takeout ever) some hot sauce, even some cayenne pepper. Was not salvageable. Ended up throwing it out and being angry I wasted my money and time. Will not be ordering again unless this was a fluke or new cook or something
Only reason this isn't a 1-star was that the people on the phone and the driver were nice and did...
Read moreOk I had High Hopes as the only Chinese option left open on a Monday at 7pm. We Ordered several Favorites to try. Orange Chicken, Garlic Chicken, Empress Pork w Vegetables, Sesame Chicken, Crab Ran-goo, Egg rolls, and Fried Rice. The Good The Bad and the Ugly, if this place needed a title for a food related movie this would be it! The Good The Egg rolls were just that. As well as the fried rice. The Bad: multiple entrees were soupy with sauce. Absent of good fresh ingredients or flavors that grab you. The Bad: the empress chicken had a funky smell and didn’t taste that far from its smell. The crab ran-goo was crunchy but lacked good flavor. Also why in the heck did the sweet n sour sauce coagulate? Weird, but my appetite died today. As we did not finish our plates. And we we’re a bit deceived by appearance and reviews. I would give Hunan another try. But it would definitely be in person. And only one time. I cannot recommend at this time. Because I feel a bit robbed of my money for the price of a poor...
