Big Sky Donuts — Restaurant in Saint Joseph

Today I bought a half dozen donuts from this place , they didn’t tell me the apple fritter by itself was separate than the half dozen , so as you can see on the receipt attached they charged me extra for the fritter and only put 5 donuts in the box yet charged me for a full half dozen which is 6 donuts but again , only 5 in the box. This may sound insignificant, but if you do this to enough customers day after day , you build up extra fraudulent profit by scamming customers. They also did not print my receipt at first , perhaps hoping I wouldn’t notice this scam. So I asked before leaving to have it printed, to which the associate had to have training on how to even print a receipt in general for the customer, which is strange that you would not train your employees on printing receipts?!? This usually (for most business onboarding) would be a “day 1 learning” for a cashier. After this on the spot training was provided to the female cashier, I discovered what happened, and wish to warn other future customers to check your receipts! I will not be returning due to this “shady”...

In today's world of "cookie cutter" & frozen donuts it can be difficult to find a donut shop that takes me back to my childhood in the 80s. My grandfather & I would visit a small donut shop early in the morning down in Kansas City. I can still remember the smell of coffee & donuts as I would stare at thru the glass at the long-johns & bear-claws.

When I first walked into Big Sky that sense of my childhood instantly returned! That wonderful smell of donuts, coffee & love ... it was like a time warp back to my youth.

At one time the little donut shop on Fredrick was the best and I had gone there for 40 years. Then the owners closed that shop and I had to find a new shop. WOW am I glad they did!!! I found Big Sky Donuts and have fallen in love... They are by far the best donuts in town and the staff is awesome... BTW that little shop on Fredrick reopened with new owners - nope - it isn't the same and Big Sky Donuts are...
