Selby Ave Bar — Restaurant in Saint Paul

Surprise of the day! I had to drop my son off for a medical appointment and walked over to Whole Foods to check out the fresh produce while I waited. Surprise! There was a little bar inside! They have reletively small beer selection compared to some of the bigger places, but it was well curated and there was something for everyone. I tend to go for imperial IPAs, stouts, and the like. The staff are very nice and the menu, while small, is quite good. It's reasonably priced and they have a decent beer selection. The reason I gave them 2 stars is because their fried foods are basically inedible. I'm not sure if it's that the fryer oil is dirty or something else, fried foods come out with a shiny film and saturated with oil. Horrible service. One time, the restaurant was almost full, one server, one bartender, and I wanted to get a burger to go. I ordered right away, and payed. I waited over 45 minutes for my burger so I could leave. The server passed by me about 10 times, not telling me how long I should expect to wait or acknowledging me at all.
