The chips and salsa were great. We also added the queso. Which cost $22. $5 per basket of chips $11 for queso. Great but not worth $22 Paloma was decent. Kids Burrito was standard. Fish tacos were not great😞 and I wanted to love them so much and this place! The chips and salsa were good so I had hopes for the fish tacos. We got both the fried and not fried. The non-fried fish was watery and incredibly blan. The pineapple Pico de Gallo was clearly made with canned pineapple, which I think added to the watery tacos. The fried fish tacos were super blan. The seasoned sour cream served with the tacos added no additional flavor. Beans and rice were fine. Service was pleasant but slow. We were not in a hurry so it was okay. The restaurant itself was cute.

Amazing restaurant! We’re visiting the area from south Florida and get lost while coming out of downtown. We came across La Cucaracha Restaurant by chance. We were not even looking to eat yet, but our daughter said she wanted Mexican and wala, there was La Cucaracha Restaurant The owner, Eddie, was very attentive and friendly. Definitely a place we would visit again, and again and again, when we’re here visiting family and friends. Try their flan. It’s delicious. The burrito was superb and the beef family? Full of good flavors. Thanks Eddie for your great hospitality and service.

My family has been going to La Cucaracha for over 30 years. My parents get the same dishes every time, Mole, Suizas and Nachos Azteca and they’ve been consistent and high quality for the past several decades. Recently we went for my mom’s birthday and we ordered one of the burritos and fish tacos. Everything at this restaurant is so good and hasn’t disappointed us. You can get drinks and great food for a reasonable price and I’ve never been disappointed. We will definitely be back again!

I used to come here years ago when I worked in St. Paul. I decided to go there for my husband's birthday because he wanted Mexican food and I remembered La Cucaracha as being quite yummy. We drove from the western suburbs and had other folks drive from Oakdale and Rogers, MN just to meet us there. I was utterly disappointed in the experience and felt so bad that these people drove so far. We had reservations and our table was ready right away which was great. The server was friendly so that was good. I was not happy to hear that we now have to pay for chips and salsa but...I guess that is a sign of the times. We ordered our food and then proceeded to wait...and wait...and wait...and wait...and wait. We were only a table of 7 people so it isn't like we were a huge group. People that were seated AFTER us got their food, ate and were packing up to leave before we got anything. My guests were getting really irritated and I was feeling like I made the wrong choice. I hoped the food would be so good that it would make up for the wait. The food arrived and I must say that I was less than impressed. There was no flavor at all with my enchiladas. My father couldn't even finish his food because the chorizo was not good at all. Others ate their food, not because it was that wonderful, but because we were absolutely starving. The bill came and there was an error (getting charged extra for a side of beans that never arrived with one person's order). When the server came with the check, she said there was gratuity already added to it but we could put more on if we wanted to. Yeah...right... For some reason, I had a thought that morning that I should cancel the reservation and go to Boca Chica instead. I really wish I had done that. So disappointed and no plans to ever...

It had been some time I hadn't come to eat, and I was a bit nervous about all of the bad recent reviews. Well, let me tell you, I'm so glad I decided to organize a group of girls night out last minute on a Monday night! Staff is still the hard working, polite and pleasing people, from bartender to servers and cook, committed to continue bringing forward the Flores family business. Margaritas are the best in town, expensive? well that's because they are the experts in making them and they use the good stuff. The food is very authentic, traditional and homemade flavor using their own recipes. Yes, it would be nice to get back some chips and salsa to nibble on for free as you sit, I must admit I missed that, but this didn't ruin the experience, the service and the great taste of the drinks and food. We had a pitcher of the strawberry margarita, enchiladas suizas, tacos (grilled fish) and ole mole with chicken delociosooooo. It won't be long until I come back. Classic, traditional Mexican family restaurant in St. Paul, which everyone should come try....

The food was delicious, everything I have ever tried from the menu here was excellent and I couldn’t recommend any one single item because they are all so good. Our server was very friendly, in fact you might say he was a little too friendly. For whatever reason he kept putting his hand on my girlfriend’s back every time he came to our table. I’m sure he thought he was being friendly - or maybe he didn’t think about it at all - or maybe he really was being a creep, who’s to say? Whatever the reason was doesn’t matter, he did it repeatedly and deliberately, and his doing so made her uncomfortable and detracted from her dining experience. I suppose the lesson here is if you bring your date here ask for a booth or make sure she has her back to the wall. And if anyone from management is reading these reviews, please tell your server to stop touching women - it’s not charming and it’s not friendly, it’s super creepy and makes everyone...
