Worth a visit for traditional Mexican food, not the Tex Mex stuff you normally get elsewhere. The staff takes pride in serving you and works as a team which is a plus. Started with the Cocktel de Camarones. The Cocktel was a tad on the sweet side. Shrimp plentiful, although not as fresh as I hoped. Tasted frozen and then soaked in water for a long time to thaw, or maybe farm raised which I hate to think is the case being shrimp live in these waters locally. Just not much flavor to the shrimp. Also no saltine style crackers which tends to be traditional. And they literally had 3 chips on the plate, so requested some chips. For which they charged me for the chips which really should have been included with the dish when no crackers were available. So will pass on ordering a cocktel here next time. And expecting the same issue with ceviche, will not order that either on a future visit. For the main course I ordered Chile en Nogata. This dish was excellent. A good quality pepper stuffed with ground beef and spice along with a sauce and berry mixture that made this dish delightful, fruity and light; yet filling. So while the cocktel was a miss, the Chile was a hit. Another miss is the chips and salsa. Be forewarned, every chip basket and every salsa refill will end up being several dollars. So skip the chips and salsa. Also skip any item you may want saltines or chips with. Conclusion? Wish I could give 5 stars, but can not. The Chile was fabulous and the service terrific, but the cocktel was a miss in flavor and no saltines (and charging for more than 3 chips). And then charging for every salsa refill as well. I will say service top notch while quality and value is dish dependant. Maybe a future visit will change my mind when I skip the chips and cocktel and go straight for trying another main dish.

Amazing family owned restaurant. I was just in St. Pete last week and ate there twice, couldn't get enough of their authentic tacos and tequila selection. The staff is so amazingly friendly and helpful. I had tacos asada, pastor and camarones. All were great but pastor were my fave. Don Julio lime margaritas are a must! And give their tequila tasting menu a try as well, we have tasted some amazing tequilas there! Sip them, don't shoot. Ask for orange and cinnamon slice to go with the tequila 😉 Next door is Pappy Liquor store that also carries the tequilas that are on the restaurant menu, you can pick up a bottle there for later. Already miss this place! Happy birthday, Bri!! P.S.: they complied to the covid precautions. Tables were spaced out and all staff wore marks and turned customers without masks away. 👌👏

We walked by this restaurant on our first night in the area and we decided to come here on the second night. We arrived around 5:30 pm and walked right in. But the king started to form right behind us. The drinks were delicious. Wife got the enchilada and daughter got the fish taco. Both said they were good. I wanted steak and shrimp so I’d ordered the fajitas combo with steak and shrimp for $28. Expecting lots of meat and Shrimp but what came out was lots of onions and veggies I was still hungry so had to order the dessert to fill up. The churros were good but better if you order the ice scream. Service was good for a busy restaurant. Keep your eyes out for the added tip within the receipt.

Don’t be fooled into thinking the long line out the door is because the place is amazing. The long line is because they have awful service, inefficient seating, and they don’t have a menu online for people to order takeout. The fantastic reviews are from tourists who are tipsy, hungry, and just happy to be on vacation. Tourists give every single place 5 stars. I’m a local and I’ve given this place 25+ chances to redeem itself and I’m done. No more. There are so many issues:

The food is good, but honestly, the rest of the issues make it not worth it to go there or order from there. No fajita or taco is worth the aggravation I’ve experienced here. The servers are rude and food takes a very long time to arrive. The worst part, by far, is this: they still don’t have a menu online. They have a link that says “menu” on the site, but you click it and it only has a few dishes on it. It’s not the full menu. If we have people in town visiting us, we can’t go there because people can’t see what they offer ahead of time and nobody wants to drive to the restaurant to go take pictures of the menu. The menu is also not on Uber eats. What restaurant doesn’t have a full menu online? It’s like a time warp back to 1995. Another awful aspect of this restaurant is they NEVER answer the phone.

I understand that they are busy and I guess they probably think that because they are so busy, they don’t have to have a menu or customer service or care about customers at all. However, here’s the thing: so many other restaurants are busy…and they have their stuff together. They don’t use their popularity as an excuse to treat customers like garbage. Why are you even in the restaurant business if you have such little concern for customers? Why even bother?

Despite me expressing concerns in the past, these people just don’t care. I’m a local. I used to eat here all the time before I became fed up with the place. No food is good enough to deal with the lack of caring. I’m done and not going back. Also, soft corn tortillas for people who can’t eat gluten would be nice for people who decide to go back…but I won’t be back. I wish I could tell you the other Mexican place on Gulf Blvd is great. It’s not. Awful food, but ok service. If you want fantastic Mexican with good service, you’ll have to travel further than Gulf Blvd on...

We recently had some friends visiting that wanted Mexican food for dinner so the 4 of us decided to walk to Agave. The place was busy for dinner so after a short wait we were seated . We sat for maybe 5 minutes and our waiter took our drink orders and he dashed off not to be seen again "I'm not exaggerating" for 30 minutes. When he finally returned we had devoured that small basket of chips and were eager to get our orders in. I was in the mood for tacos , the real kind you know small corn tortillas w/ meat onions and a side of lime. I asked the waiter and he said ,oh yes you want the blah blah blah! I repeated back so that's 3 tacos , yes yes he said. Next 3 orders were easy 3 fajitas. Ahh sir can we have another tiny basket of chips please? Again our waiter dashed off with no drink refills and we never saw another basket of chips either. Now I understand dinner is a busy time for the staff but we did not see this waiter again ! We are a super patient group but ...come on ...actually I finally had to grab what seemed to be the manager to find out if we ever going to get some food! She returned and apologized and said their was a mix up on order but it would be out shortly, Ok it happens but in hind sight our order never got turned in! 30 minutes later a lone dish made its way to our table it wasn't sizzling so it must be my tacos! Yeah ! NOT. I was brought 3 Arepa's not tacos. ...I'm like "whatever I'm hungry" ! 5 minutes later 2 fajita platters made their way out and we are all trying to be polite and not eating waiting for the last fajita. 5 more minutes no food finally our guest says please eat it's getting cold, we chase down the manager again but now she has an attitude, REALLY!! The 3 of us made contributions to feed our friend from our plates, 20 minutes later they bring his food. At this point he lost his appetite so the manager returned with it in a To go container and the bill w/20 % auto gratuity . Are you kidding me !!!! Now we never asked for anything free but at this point you would think somebody there would push the customer service button! 1 star =the food was "ok " 2nd star = our sympathy as you will go out of business if you keep running your...

THE OWNER of this place is ABSOLUTELY Rude!!!! My Daughter and her boyfriend ate here this evening while on vacation and after there meal they told the lady to keep the change as it was only maybe a few cents, not much, however they didn't want the change and were planning to leave extra bills on the table, but before given that chance, the owner walked to there table threw the bill folder down while the change flew out and said very loud and all up in there face " You think this is a tip, I need more then this"! (Keep in mind, they had ever intention to put more on the table had she of given more time she would of seen this before making a big scene. First and foremost, We're not REQUIRED to leave a tip, Is it the right thing to do, yes, required no. To FORCE someone to pay a certain amount is UNACCEPTABLE especially the Owner! They were made to leave $10.00 amount. This was from the owner. I have NEVER been so upset. The tip would have been even more had she of just been patient and then to make a scene and force one, Is basically Like robbing KIDS, because I assure you had this been adults This situation would of NEVER HAPPENED! THESE WERE YOUNG adults just enjoying there evening until bullied by an adult demanding "MORE MONEY". I want to be clear that there was NEVER any doubt of tip being left but to demand more when they hadn't even left the table.. Just RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL!! I As an adult i have told my server or waiter to keep the change N left more on the table without ever being an issue. Some Just dont want the change back that would of been left over. This is unacceptable behavior from anyone . I also want to be clear, beside this situation The food was good they said and the gentleman server was very nice to them and even told them they didn't do anything wrong, the owner is just "allowed" to do...
