TO: KAREN #1 & KAREN #2
First of all, this place instantly fools you by how breathtakingly beautiful the fish tank is/gift shop/overall atmosphere but don’t be fooled. I vacationed with the family I nanny for with 3 kids and we stayed at the Trade Winds resort which told us all about this restaurant which the boys were all so excited to eat at. Upon arrival there was absolutely no one in the restaurant they had just opened so we asked for a table and were immediately given attitude for not making a reservation as if it was going to affect everybody at the whole dang resort and all of Florida. The hostess and waitress had to put two tables together for us all since there were 6 of us. Again, it is not busy nor were there anyone sitting at the restaurant at this point. KAREN #1 (the one with the glasses on her face) goes to put the table together and as she does so she is collecting the glass cups and I noticed she has a bit of an attitude doing so and thought okay I should offer them help as she has 5 cups in one hand and is collecting the others off the table to switch them out. I pick up the cup nearest to me to help her out and she stops and looks me up and down and gives me the nastiest glare I’ve ever been given in my entire life then proceeds to go “okay I guess” as I am helping her out of the kindness of my heart. I spoke up and said “I’m just trying to help” and she proceeds with “I don’t need your help” I collect myself because I am with the family I work for and around children and I do my best to maintain professional and I don’t say anything after. So I just take a seat in a chair at the table and she proceeds to go “whatever” as I’m taking my seat for whatever miserable reason she has going on in her life. You know what you are lucky I was there with kids and the family I work for because your nasty attitude with me after I kindly offered you help would have made me cause a scene but God was on your side. THEN as we began to sit down KAREN #2 comes over and gives us all a nasty attitude for having the kids sit on the bench closest to the water tank when NO ONE WAS THERE and this is after we were told and ASKED if they could go over and see it. It’s a shame that after they set up a table for us we ended up walking out and telling them we were not going to eat there. We wouldn’t want to dare trust any hostess or waiters with our food especially having an attitude when someone offers you help! After we walked out we waited for our Uber ride in the lobby area and clear as day I see Karen #1 and Karen #2 looking back at us multiple times and talking together and rolling their eyes. What a sad miserable life you two women are living if you are walking around as unhappy as you are to kind people especially children who now had their experience ruined from your bad attitudes. I hope whatever it is you ladies are going through you work out with God or a therapist because you truly have to be miserable to act that way to anyone let alone someone offering their...
Read moreI'm not going to lie, the atmosphere here was really great and the food was alright. But the service was absolutely disgusting.
We had a very large work event and we were treating our clients to a dinner at RumFish Grill. I called about a month ahead of time asking them to send me the banquet menus so that my clients and employees could choose from a limited menu that would just be easiest for us. We chose the middle tier and on the contract it listed open bar. So I told my clients and my employees that they could order any drinks that they would like because it's open bar. Now, when you see (or even Google) open bar, it's very clear that means that you pay one price and all of the drinks are included from then on.
Well, we get the check and everything is priced separately (not the limited menu prices) and the drinks were charged on the receipt. I gave the check back to the server and told them that we had a contract that stated these limited menu prices and the open bar. He came back with a receipt that was $300 higher than the last receipt and the drinks were still on there. We asked him why it was even higher and he said that he changed it to the banquet menu. It's really sketchy that their limited banquet menu is more expensive than ordering these items off the menu. I asked to speak to the manager about the price of the food plus the cocktails that should've been taken off of the check because we had open bar per the contract that I signed. She was extremely rude and told me that open bar just means that people can order drinks and we would still pay for them. Now, that doesn't make any sense but we were also frustrated about the price of the food being more expensive so we told her that we would happily pay for the drinks if she would give us the better price for the food so we can kind of meet in the middle with all of this misunderstanding. She refused and held the contract against me. I told her if she was going to hold us to that contract that she should've deducted the drinks but I was willing to come her way a little bit and pay for the drinks if she gave us the cheaper price for the food that was on the first check that we received. I told her that there was no way that I was paying such a high tab when I should've been paying about half the amount with the contract that I signed. She snatched the check out of my hands and stormed away and just put like 5 or 10% discount on there or something. Immature and disrespectful bad service for a manager to act like a child and refused to understand where a customer is coming from. I would never come here again just because of how sketchy the pricing and management was. I wouldn't go here just because you don't know what you're...
Read moreRumfish Grill 8-24-24 The restaurant opens at 5pm so we made reservations the day before for the first seating at 5pm. We arrived about 4:25pm and went to the bar for a drink before dinner. Four things right up front to remember that we did not know but learned fast. First you must pay $10.00 to park to go into the restaurant or bar unless you are staying there. 2nd Parking, restaurant, and bar ONLY take credit cards but can take tips in cash. 3rd this restaurant is not for everyone as it has a very limited menu and it’s pricey. 4th if you make reservations make sure you ask for a table at the aquarium as these tables go first. The restaurant opens at 5pm and the bar is open from 11am to 12am. The Bar only has a very small menu so if you want dinner you have to go to the restaurant where the 33,500-gallon aquarium is located. We got seated at 5pm and Audrey took our drink order and left menus for us to look over. When she came back, we asked her if we could move to a table as we asked for that when we first arrived. She had seated us at a ½ booth with cracked bench seat and ½ table. That was too uncomfortable for the wife. We moved to a table and proceeded to order our food. I ordered the Grilled Rib Eye medium well with Yukon Whipped Potato’s. The wife ordered the Angus Filet Mignon medium well with Yukon Whipped Potato’s. Our orders also came with a couple spears of asparagus on top of the potatoes. My dad ordered the kids Chicken Tenders, Fries, and a Salad as he could not find anything on the adult menu he liked. It took a while for our food to come out, so they brought us 3 rolls to hold us over. Once our food got delivered my Rib Eye looked perfect and tasted fantastic it was done just perfect. My potatoes were good, but they were warm not hot but not cold enough to send back. My wife’s Filet Mignon was done perfectly and tasted fantastic, but her potatoes were just warm. The asparagus was cold and hard. My wife had to ask another server to fill her drink up as we have not seen Audrey in a while. She did stop by much later to see if we needed anything. I thought for an upscale restaurant with higher prices the service would be better and the food a lot hotter. The steaks were done perfectly and tasted great too bad they could not pull that off for the rest of the meal. By the way my dad’s Chicken Tenders and Fries were very good, and everything was hot. With the large 33,500-gallon aquarium which was absolutely beautiful and mesmerizing to watch they really have a niche to draw people in. This place could easily be a 5-star restaurant, but it only earned 3 from my experience. ⭐⭐⭐ Follow me on FB for...
