Fried chicken was great. 3 pieces dark was $10 with two sides. We had twice baked mashed potatoes, slaw, potato salad, and baked beans. All had a unique flavor. Potato salad was a little on vinegar side but good. Slaw had a slightly sweet vinegar and oil and was delicious. The baked beans had a unique flavor I couldn’t identify and were good. The twice baked mashed is very much a bacon flavor. If you don’t like bacon in your potatoes don’t order. If you do, you’ll love them. Ribs were not bad. Dry. Tender. The staff was very kind and helpful. We made the mistake of going at noon on Wednesday. Line of 20 people that was still long when we left at 1:15. Wait was about 15 minutes. You have to sign up on a list then stand in line for n a narrow hallway. If close proximity is not your thing, may want to find a less busy time. Everything is cozy. Tables, line, crowd. Food came out within 15 minutes I think. The half slab with two wings and sides was $20. Total bill for pictured was &34.80. I had water. Did I mention how kind and efficient the waitress and hostess is? People arose me me had some amazing looking hamburgers and potato soup. If I go back I’d try the chili (spicey and regular) and hamburger. I’d also get nat a not peak time. Im wondering if they have one

For many years Hobos has been providing the fine folk of Saint Peters, and far beyond thereof, with some of the most spectacular gastronomical delights within a radius extending nigh indefinitely. All at a fair and reasonable price. There’s not much I can say that hasn’t already been said about this place. Everyone within a country mile knows you can come here any night of the week and get fried chicken cooked to such a masterful level that it could serve as a standard for the very definition. Everyone always tells me that the rest of the menu is just as good but I consider it a missed opportunity, even a disservice to myself, to get anything else other than bone-in fried chicken or their hand breaded, thick, and oh-so-succulent, chicken strips. Pair these bad boys with their homemade ranch, which is a phenom in itself, and you will find yourself in a culinary valley of blissful enlightenment. 9.6/10 clucks. Don’t take my word for it. If you’ve never been here just come and make the pilgrimage. There will likely be a long line upon your arrival but your patience will be kindly rewarded in the end.

I genuinely, TRULY wanted to love this place because of all the hype surrounded by it's legendary fried chicken. Unfortunately, it missed the mark for me. I visited I'm not sure if it was the cook that night or the fact that I came in on a crowded Saturday night back in January. The presentation of the chicken looked fantastic. But looks were deceptive. It was crispy. Juicy, in fact! The problem was it only tasted like salt. It's as if the brine it was marinated in had nothing but salt. The breading, too, only tasted like salt. No spice at all that I could detect. Maybe a hint of black pepper, but it was very slight. The green beans were ultra soggy and overcooked with an unpleasant aftertaste. The slaw was extremely good though! The burger was cooked like a hockey puck, sadly. Very stiff and rubbery. The onion rings were also slightly undercooked in the middle. Again, I get the hype! This place has been around for a long time entertaining folks for years. I might come back again and try, but for now, I'll leave it up to y'all to decide! Not delicious.

I went to Hobos last Thursday night, the 7th, to have dinner with relatives from out of town. We usually go to this restaurant and enjoy the chicken so I figured that it was a good place to take them. Unfortunately, this time my server was belligerent, rude, loud. I ordered two extra sides with our meal, but when I got the bill, I noticed that she had over charged me by $11.00. I called her and asked her to please bring me the menu since I wanted to make sure that I was correct before I brought it to her attention. She immediately got upset and told me that she was going to have a manager come to my table. I told her that I did not need to speak to the manager and that I just wanted the menu. She continued to raised her voice, causing other patrons to noticed what was going on. I asked her to please lower her voice and she replied that she couldn’t because that’s the way she speaks (not true since she never spoke loud before that). It was obvious that she was causing a commotion with the purpose of embarrassing me. She walked away and a few minutes later the manager showed up at my table causing more embarrassment to my guests and myself. Unfortunately, I did not get her name but she was a tall lady with blond hair (not young looking) wearing shorts. Extremely rude demeanor since the moment we got there. I will advise everyone to check your bill statements before paying for your bill. Hobos is always very crowded and waiters are always running trying to place your order and serve you. This gives the servers the opportunity to over charge hoping that you won’t notice. So, beware and make sure that you scrutinized your bill. It’s your right as a consumer. For some of us, we go out to dinner to avoid the stress of having to cook at home. We pay for an over priced meal hoping that we can relax and have a good time. If we suffer stress, embarrassment, and aggravation by a server, then that defeats the purpose of going out. I regret so much going out to...

Very disappointed -- "additional charges" galore. Sunday lunch & not a bad wait. One table available, but hostess said most people didn't want to sit there b/c overhead fan made it too cold. So we waited for a different table and ended up under a ROW of fans set way too high. Hello management, if most customers are wearing their coats while eating, it's obviously too cold -- turn the fans off or down! PROS: Fried chicken & fried fish were both really good -- generous portions, hot & flavorful. CONS: **Side dishes we ordered were not good, and 5 of the 7-ish side offered were all potato dishes. Baked beans had a weird flavor -- cinnamon maybe?? -- I love cinnamon, but not in "BBQ baked beans" -- tasted more like a Fall dessert. "Hobo corn" is just canned corn w/ a few peppers added - school lunch quality. But our biggest complaint is all their "additional charges." Order a burger and want lettuce or onion? That's extra. Pickles? Those are extra. Want to pay w/ a credit card? There'll be a 3.5% charge. Want some hot sauce for your fish? That'll be extra. (No bottles of Cholula on the tables here, folks.) Our chicken & fish dinners came with 2 sides, and one of the sides listed was "mashed potatoes and gravy." Once we got the bill....they had charged us EXTRA for the gravy. We asked our waitress & she got snippy about it, said they'd been doing that "for a year now" and lots of customers don't like it, and even the wait staff complained to the owner, but they won't change it. Left with a bad vibe of being nickled and dimed, and probably...
