The employees were super nice, had no problems with the server or the host. There was an older male who greeted us in the store as soon as we walked in with excitement in his voice and he seems to really love his job. I haven't been to cracker barrel since I was a kid so I wasn't sure what to expect. I'm 19, so it's probably been a good 11 years or more. I loved the healthy options they had for breakfast, from the egg whites to the turkey sausage and the side of fruit medley. They provide you with calories on every meal which is good for those that are watching it like me, and it's a great cozy feeling to be in there. They have a fireplace going on, country music playing, and unique appliances. My partner and I definitely recommend stopping here along the way. We were celebrating our anniversary and decided to stop here for breakfast. My partner got the biggest breakfast meal they had there which I think if I remember correctly, had grandpa in the name. He said his meal was spectacular and filled him up. The price for everything was cheap considering how much food we were given. It ran $20 something dollars for the two of us. After we were through with eating on the one side, we looked around in the store you see as soon as you enter the building. My love purchased some candy I believe and I took a look at all the cute owl things, and military shirts, cups, and hats. I went out without purchasing anything myself but that's because my bank account was screaming "don't do it".🤣 I think I regret not purchasing an ARMY shirt now, but point is- it's a great stop for breakfast, brunch, and dinner. You feel welcomed as soon as you walk in; from the time you walk out. If you want your mood to improve, stop here! & If you're feeling compelled to buy something random just because you want to spoil yourself, check their store out! You don't HAVE to eat there. Where you eat is a different part of the building and it's not required for entry. But I wouldn't wanna be the person to miss out on...
Read moreI have traveled to many cracker barrels and been to this one on occasion. This is my only 1 star review anywhere. Seems whenever there is management changes I notice changes, this location always has something going on. This takes the cake. The waitress charged me extra for the biscuits, which are supposed to be included in the big meal. So I told the cashier to have them taken off. She had a bad attitude and she's like "ill get whoever" or whatever she was saying. I say 'ya get a manager.' Then she gives me a very dirty look to my face. I called her out on it "you are giving me a dirty look?? Are you serious? You don't give customers dirty looks." Even if she told me a bs answer 'oh sorry that wasn't for you or something. But did not. Then gives me another one! then smiles and walks away. The manager came and I didn't care much of the biscuits anymore and already aggravated from upsetting Ms. Princess. Told him to take the biscuits off and he did, she was nearby and I complained about her in front of her "real professional." She gives another dirty look and has a smile after and walks away. I told the manager, I don't want her fired, she was younger and but had to be called out and can't be doing that to people. If she did it to me, she's done it to others. The other staff continued on with their work and didn't blink. That says enough. I will not be coming back to this location. Go to Oldsmar or Ulmerton, they are...
Read moreCracker Barrel is a cozy, homey place to eat. I love sitting on the rocking chairs outside and looking at all the cute things in their store. They sell old fashioned candies, home decor, and seasonal items.
The service and food is pretty good. But I'm pregnant and the last time I ate here, I was extremely thirsty. I had to ask someone coming out of the kitchen for water because I just couldn't wait anymore after we were first seated and it was taking a while for our server to bring us drinks. And our server wasn't great at staying on top of refilling our beverages. I feel like that might have been a one-off- maybe they were understaffed- but customers want to associate the Cracker Barrel experience with great hospitality. The food on the menu is good, basic comfort food, but it's just nothing special.
In this day and age, there's a lot of competition with restaurants and having new and exciting things on the menu can help set you apart. While I can appreciate simple comfort food for what it is, I think they could add a little bit of punch to their menu without compromising what they're all about. Cracker Barrel already has an edge over the competition with the experience and atmosphere they offer. I know there's lots of longtime Cracker Barrel fans like me. Sometimes I just get the tug to eat at Cracker Barrel and no other restaurant...
