Following from my other review if you all read it this is the next morning for check out reminder I booked a king size room for two days, so this is the next morning completely different manager of course do the shift change now I’m speaking with the general manager just Stephanie Cashell. Sidenote, I said I was checking out only because some hotels make you change rooms or they allow you to keep the same room so I was just going downstairs just to clarify with her that I do have another room booked for that day. I greeted her and spoke with her that I had another room booked for that day. She then stated that I had to pay the $250 deposit fee for the room again I questioned her about the stating “how come I had to do that since everything was booked for and paid for online”, she then stated “ you were explain all of this last night” I then asked ”how do you know what was discussed in the conversation that I had with someone else last night” she then stated “the person I spoke with last night was the office manager and she was the general manager”. I then asked her if she could just cancel the room and if I was able to get a refund that would be great if not, it will still be fine and she said okay no problem she’ll send me a refund and that was that at this time I’m in the hotel parking lot sitting in my car still feeling very uncomfortable with the interactions I’ve had with both managers, so I am looking at the hotels policy online. I pull up the policy I then went to go back inside to speak with the general manager Stephanie Cashell I went back inside because I felt that something wasn’t being further explained. I was still a little bit confused because I really enjoyed going to that hotel which was very convenient for me and now that this happened I don’t even wanna be a choice member anymore and I don’t wanna go back there just because why would someone pay $250 on top of an $87 room for one night now let’s say I was coming down to that specific hotel for two nights that would be a total of $670 just for two nights it’s ridiculous. Upon returning back inside to speak with the general manager with the policy pulled up she began to further explain what the office manager explained to me last night verbatim I then told her that I’m still confused, because they never made this known to any other choice members, or any guests I could see if I came in to the lobby and wanted to know if she had some rooms available, which would be fine in that moment to explain” the new policy” but I always book my rooms online so however, im still discussing with her in a very calm manner professional manner, she then states “I’m not going to argue with you anymore. I’ve already explain to you what was discussed with you last night I sent you a refund I don’t know what else more to tell you” “I then stated I didn’t know that we were arguing I thought we were just having a normal conversation” She began going back-and-forth with me. I can’t really make out what she was saying, but all I know is that I ended up asking for her name because at that point I was over it I am 23 years old and I know how to carry myself very well, especially in confrontational environments or in very well, mannered and professional environments so at that point, I end up calling corporate once again and once calling corporate, I found out that on that specific location and on those 2 specific managers, they have several files cased against them due to this specific situation and while being on the phone with corporate, they also made it known to me that that locations privately owned, but just because it’s privately owned, they do not have the right to make up new policies that they still have to follow choices company policies I don’t know what it sounds like, but it sounds like a...
Read moreThe first night we stayed here was fantastic. Jennifer at the front desk really accommodated us and made us feel welcome by checking us in early just like they promised at choice reservations. The room was fantastic very comfortable bed great TV very quiet. We decided to stay a second night and that's when things kind of went bad. We rebook the reservation through choice reservations online and went down and re-signed the papers for another day. When I asked the girl what I was signing she just said this is for your reservation and I said okay. Then they call me about a half hour later saying that they needed a deposit for the room and my card was not going through. I asked them why they need to deposit tonight when they didn't need one for the night before? She got very nasty with me Said everybody pays deposits every day no matter what even though I didn't pay one for the prior night. Then when I showed her that it did go through on my bank account and it was showing a $50 pending transaction right online she still wasn't denial that it wasn't going through. Then the manager got involved and for some reason they just can't understand that it's showing right on my bank account the hold of $50 that they put on my card. I offered to pay it in cash and then just get it back the next day when we checked out. They told me I had to pay $200 if it was a cash deposit which I thought was just ridiculous. So they insulted me by saying that my card was no good which it was there's plenty of money on there and then to tell me that if I pay cash it has to be $200 none of this came up during the prior stay the night before. While I was there I was watching a girl cry her eyes out because they would not give her 200 dollar deposit back because they said that she bled on the sheets It was very disrespectful to say that in front of a bunch of people and then to take somebody's money like that was ridiculous. All they had to do was bleach the sheets. It was a real sad situation because you could tell the girl really needed her $200 back That's a lot of money for people in these times right now and for them just to keep it for a set of sheets is ridiculous. Such a shame because we stay at choice hotels all the time and this room was probably one of the nicest we've stayed in but to see them treat customers the way they do was a real turn off. Just be careful if you check into this place with the whole deposit thing because it sounds like a little bit of a scam to me. If you hand them over $200 you are not going to get it back. Hopefully choice hotels will get involved in this very quickly because they are not representing the The company the way other...
Read moreBeds not very comfortable at all because the mattresses are super old and lumpy to the point you even feel the springs. Room was VERY small!! Way way overpriced and they took advantage of the storm in every way possible, which is disgusting to do to other human beings. All the hotels in the area that did have power were sold out. Had no choice but to stay here during the hurricane because I had NO power for 6 days and live with a toddler along with his godfather who is a also a Vietnam veteran with leukemia. They wouldn't even offer a military discount, no discounts at all and they were sold out because of the hurricane. They were charging almost 200 a room with tax and "fees" when people were only staying there to have electricity and air conditioning. Updating this: The breakfast girl does a really great job and was very nice. Front desk really needs work along with some hospitality training. The bathroom had hair on the floor and wasn't properly cleaned along with poor bright work in the bathroom. I'm sure the staff doesn't even know what bright work is though. I managed the front desk AND also the back of the house (mainly housekeeping as an executive housekeeper and front office manager for over 10 years with Marriott) for hotels. I actually started out with Choice hotels at a Days Inn property. I can say this property does not meet their standards. The front desk couldn't even spell my name correctly after telling them multiple times how do so but they also authorized my credit card without telling me so I had money frozen in my account for several days. It was a same day reservation and you need to tell your guests you're doing that. Even then it should be your night auditor charging the card one night room and tax for no show since some people do change their method of payment. I did notice the girl did not explain a no show policy to me but I wasn't planning on no showing so I didn't care. I was placed on hold several times which makes me believe she was new and not fully trained. Don't let trainees take reservations unsupervised. I HIGHLY suggest making them a check list next to all the phones and computers (even in the back, yes!) All my phones also required highway directions. It did made my desk run faster and more efficient. Knowing who shouldn't be working behind a desk is...
