Others have commented/reviewed the dining area…still accurate. The whole facility needs a facelift, major reno. The concrete outside looks so in need of complete repair. There was enough space for pet relief, so that wasn’t a major issue. The outdoor fencing is jacked up in quite a few places (outside atmosphere should set the tone when you go to a place). Also, pool is down for maintenance… First night, family and I had a long day so we didn’t really see the outside when we entered. Well the room. See some photos below. 1) God knows what is on that chair 2) Fixtures in the room all rusted 3) Hair on bathroom floor 4) Wife said to me, “Look at my feet after just walking in here”…black bottoms 5) I don’t know who they hired to do the flooring, you know when your friend suggests a handyman who’s cheaper than all of the rest? Well that guy installed vinyl planks over God knows what….you’d walk and feel the big mismatch in flooring (in quite a few places) So the first night, got the kids washed up…that used our two towels. I called for more. “Sure let me see if I can get someone over”…this was probably at 8:30-9pm. Well 20 min rolls by and I walk up to the front desk…”Can I help you?” Yeah I was the guy who just called for some towels. “Our housekeeping went home already.” Seriously dude? So I say to him, “do you know where the towels are kept?” 20 sec later another lady walks in behind says same thing. He grabs his keys, So we follow young guy to where they keep the towels. He hands me two, I ask, “Can I get two more?” He looked perturbed “didn’t your room have any?” I’m thinking “does it matter?!?!” I told him the kids used them and threw them on the ground. He then handed me two more. Like does it matter? Customer service should be more of just make it easier on your customers and if it’s that much if an inconvenience, go find a different career. I was going to check out the headboard to see if there was dust, but didn’t…sure there would have been. We were glad to not have to pay the Taylor Swift pricing on other hotels (she was playing Tampa), but we won’t be back here. Will gladly pay more to just feel more comfortable. I really don’t know how Quality Inn brand still has their name/branding attached to this place.

I normally err on the side of generosity when I review however this review is going to be unfiltered honesty. I normally go out of my way to stay in Quality branded lodging because of their pet friendliness, the rates are reasonable, the rooms are perfect for my dogs and me, and they have an adequate hot breakfast with decent choices. No 5 star brunch but it’s hot and tasty. I live in Cape Coral and took the brunt of hurricane Ian’s eye wall (no calm of the eye, eye wall for hours). My house was battered and roof won’t stop any rain now but no flooding. I loaded up and drove over 100 miles to get to this Quality In in Saint Petersburg. Room wasn’t ready at 5pm so I waited. There are several rooms that are empty and in various stages of housekeeping. Neither of these are bad, my room had power, AC, clean sheets, and running water. I desperately needed sleep last night. Woke up this morning anticipating the usual Quality brand breakfast starting at 6am. It was closer to 6:30 (not a major deal just compounds the negative experience). No hot food, nothing. Stale bread (white and wheat) no other options. Chewy granola bars, unripe bananas. Plain instant oatmeal some cold cereal and yogurts. That’s it. Explains why the lights weren’t on in the dining area, no one was going to stay to pretend to enjoy that pathetic spread. I’m over 100 miles from the major life changing destruction trying to find some sense or normalcy before I go back and start the massive clean up and repairing efforts. I’m very very disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, there are many people that are way worse off and I have a LOT to be thankful for. This isn’t a whiny poor me post. This is about finding normalcy in time of major devastation in an area that was not impacted directly. Anyway I do not recommend this motel.

If you're looking for the basics in accommodations look no further lol such as protection from the elements ..check..a place to lay your head..check.. a place to wash up..check.. The breakfast is your basic Continental spread that being said thank goodness that there's a waffle House and a Racetrac 50 yd from the entrance with a few other choices not too far from the hotel itself. The neighborhood is quiet for the most part, The hotel is less than a quarter of a mile from the interstate. Considering what they charge per night I highly suggest going to a travel website to knock off as much as one can off the price. The only thing that I can tell you that's good about this hotel is that it is pet friendly. Also with any low budget hotel/motel you have to expect a certain element I know it sounds kind of judgy but that's what it is considering the neighborhood The hotel is located in. I also would like to address the reviews about the staff I myself personally haven't experienced any confrontational or rude staff members they have actually been pretty nice to me so I can't say much about them being rude or mean. The thing that I can agree on with most of these reviews is the dust issue, I guess housekeeping may be taking shortcuts seeing how the floors are dark so one might think they can get away without mopping or sweeping which is just pure laziness really , it's nothing that a Swiffer can't handle and take care of in 5 minutes or less.

We had a reservation for two rooms booked through Orbitz (Expedia), we called the property around 10PM saying we are on our way and requested a remote checkin if available, the lady who answered my call (I believe was the manager of the property) asked us to come to the property to checkin. We arrived at the property around 11.45PM and the front desk person was taking care of another guest. By the time they looked at our reservation, it was around Midnight. The front desk mentioned that they had only one room ready for us. The second room showed as not cleaned. He called the manager and told us that they don’t have the second room. We had 8 people with two children in our van waiting to get into the room. I requested them to give the room key for the one room available so we can have the children rest. We were tired from the long drive and hoping that they get the second room. The hotel agent gave us the second room key (room 133), when I got to that room, I saw that the room was occupied by someone else. So I got back to the front desk and requested them to give another room. After the agent got back and forth with the manager, he said that his manager wanted us to contact Orbitz (travel portal) to find us a police to accommodate us. I called Orbitz but could get to anyone who could help. My family got settled in the first room since this took over an hour. I asked the agent that I am willing to take the uncleaned room but the manager told him that she did not want us to stay at the hotel. I requested the front desk to get me connected to the manager to explain my situation to see if that will make a difference. She was rude and said that I had to talk to 3rd party through which I booked and wanted us to get out of the property. I explained her how difficult it would be to take my kids from the room since they are already sleeping and requested that I get time to contact Orbitz. She said that she is going to call the cops and asked us to evict the property. The front desk agent stepped away to convince her saying we are willing to take the uncleaned room. After a few minutes he came back saying, the manager doesn’t want us to stay and ask for the property and has called the cops on us. The cop arrived and I explained them the situation. They suggested that I contact Orbitz which I did and I was not able to talk to anyone who can help. It was around 1.30 AM, the cop suggested that I move out of the one room we were in, and find an accommodation else where. We ended up waking our kids and started calling near by restaurants. The Fairfield inn which was beside th is Quality Inn property was also managed by the same manager (Front desk agent told us), they closed the door of Fairfield inn so we couldn’t go there. I called Marriott Titanium Elite member help desk and they tried to call Fairfield to see if they can accommodate us but they couldn’t talk to them. We ended up finding another hotel close by around 2.30 and checked in. It was a terrible experience and I am sure the manager has done this kind of stuff with other guests as well. Please be cautious when you book at this properly. I contacted Orbitz this morning and informed them about the experience we had. They contacted the property requesting refund and told me that the property manager denied the refund. I was not happy that we went through such horrible experience and on top of that we are denied refund for not providing the services we booked for. I hope Orbitz will take reasonable action on this and Choice Hotels will take this seriously since this is an unacceptable behavior by the property management. Please stay away from this property. This is my first experience wi to Choice Hotel chain. I hope this is not common across their properties. Hope this review helps others.

I have stayed here for 2 weeks at one time, and a bit here and there since my first extended stay. Joy(FDM), Erin(OFDM) and Jennifer(PGM) are not only professionals, but awesome women. There is a guy with blonde hair, who checks to make sure everything on the up and up. He makes sure no one is playing games with their rooms and that all rooms are properly reserved, cared for and respected. Hist vustomer service is yip not h and the one time he ade a mistake with my stay when the property manager, Jebbifer, was gracious enough to give me another stay due to a couple/family spout directly underneathof my room, which resulted in no sleep for the entire night, she made it right, and the guy came back and sincerely apologized. Its the type of place anyone would want to stay where you can enjoy your stay, and when something unreasonable happens, they nip it in the butt! Lets also acknowledge 2 GC's and maintenance guys (one has a hat on backwards, the other is an older gentlemen with experience with a buzzcut, usually wearing glasses and a black shirt (kudos to his great customer service)- both men have exceptional go-getter attitudes). The pool and the overall atmosphere os fantastic!

This is a no nonsense place! But ignorance is contagious! People try to take advantage of some places and this isnt the place to do that. If ypu want to come here, have a great time, enjoy the pool, enjoy the wonderful room service, enjoy the gas station right outside the neighborhood and the wafflehouse directly across the street (not to mention the magnificent bagels, mcmuffins, coffee, sour cream, juices, fresh fruit and the cleanliness - this is the place for you!

No roaches, no bugs, no unkempt bedding and sheets, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING like that here. If there are negative reviews, its likely because of half truths, bad behavior and playing the victim, where the guest(s) were perfect angels, yet pretending "whoa is me". Its a great hotel, just like the rest of the top notch 3+ star hotels. But people dont like when they cant treat YOUR HOTEL even worse than THEIR OWN SPACE - and when they get called out on it, they complain, manipulate and fabricate facts, and act like they cant do any wrong.

trust me, I have seen it happen more than 9 times where people were minding their own business, honest guests. But when they ask other guests to stop smoking in their rooms, banging or making loud noises, etc., they pretend that they havnt done anything. Then a needless conflict or animosity breaks out.

Thankfully, because of great property mgmt like Jennifer, it is so peaceful now. People can enjoy their stay without nonsense. I give it 3/3 stars as someone who has spent atleast a total of 30 days therw.

Keep up thw great work Jen, Erin and Joy 😊

Others have commented/reviewed the dining area…still accurate.

The whole facility needs a facelift, major reno. The concrete outside looks so in need of complete repair. There was enough space for pet relief, so that wasn’t a major issue. The outdoor fencing is jacked up in quite a few places (outside atmosphere should set the tone when you go to a place). Also, pool is down for maintenance…

First night, family and I had a long day so we didn’t really see the outside when we entered. Well the room. See some photos below.

  1. God knows what is on that chair
  2. Fixtures in the room all rusted
  3. Hair on bathroom floor
  4. Wife said to me, “Look at my feet after just walking in here”…black bottoms
  5. I don’t know who they hired to do the flooring, you know when your friend suggests a handyman who’s cheaper than all of the rest? Well that guy installed vinyl planks over God knows what….you’d walk and feel the big mismatch in flooring (in quite a few places)

I was going to check out the headboard to see if there was dust, but didn’t…sure there would have been.

We were glad to not have to pay the Taylor Swift pricing on other hotels (she was playing Tampa), but we won’t be back here. Will gladly pay more to just feel more comfortable.
