Old Farmer's Creamery — Restaurant in Saint Petersburg

We stopped in for a cool treat but was disappointed in the cash only option. Some would say the onus is on the customer but considering they were closed for months due to the Rona, we just swing in on an impulse. Not for me to judge, but we did leave after having our order fulfilled by the staff and standing at the register since they do not take credit cards. All in all, no harm no foul. What won me over to actually take the time for this review, was reading several snippy and outright classless responses from "the owner" towards other local patrons. Yea "Brah" we all live in a world now where we can say what we want I guess, but call me old school and the childish retorts at previous customer reviews is something to take into consideration. Buyer beware, you need cash and if you plan on anything more than a scoop or two, you're gonna need $20+. I'm also waiting with baited breath for an aggressive response from management based on several reviews where customers were not satisfied; whatever their reasons were, and regardless if the reviewer was justified or not. This used to be our favorite ice cream shop in St Pete. However the last 5+ times that we have tried to go there has been hardly any ice cream whatsoever and not clean. Today I walked in to get ice cream and only the last two freezers out of all of them had ice cream in them and these freezers were half emptt. Of the 10 flavors that were left, 3 of those were sold out. The signs on the freezers are incorrect, the sold out signs are written on post-it notes that are all ripped up and have obviously been there for a while. The ice cream itself had freezer burn on the top of it. In the past they tried to tell us that the shortages of ice cream were due to the pandemic and shortages but now there is really no excuse. The building itself looks completely dilapidated on the inside and really is not that clean. There are tons of much better ice cream places around that have better ice cream and...

By far the BEST ice cream place in town!! You can taste the difference in their ice cream compared to other local places.

I honestly don’t eat tons of ice cream but I would still say this is one of the best I’ve ever had. Many people I’ve brought here agree.

One of the reason it’s so delicious is that it’s hand-churned. The flavor and consistency definitely show it!

They have a wide range of flavors, so their is something for everyone.

The only draw backs are that sometimes during busy seasons they are out of a lot of flavors. And they are cash only.

But they do get flavors back in stock every few days.

I’ve tried many of their chocolate flavors and have not been disappointed.
