The Campus Grind — Restaurant in Saint Petersburg

Pleasant coffee/breakfast/lunch spot on the USF campus. I live nearby, but only visit occasionally since I'm usually headed downtown. If you're looking for a quiet spot to have coffee outside or inside, this is one of the best places south of downtown near the water. The atmosphere is less institutional than Kahwa in the student center, and less corporate than Starbucks in the Hilton. The outside seating is relaxing, unlike the coffee shop at the USF bookstore, which has only a few uncomfortable metal tables with attached chairs along busy 5th Ave S.

How is the coffee? I can only comment on the regular latte, which is very good. They also offer the obligatory sugary drinks masquerading as coffee that many Americans prefer.

Speaking of sugar, one quibble: The multigrain bread is sweet (as is often the case). I'd recommend choosing something else if you enjoy a savory sandwich such as the bacon, egg, spinach and tomato (BEST).

Being right next to the USFSP campus is such a win for students. Of course, if you’re a student you have to use your own resources to get food here, but the food here is good and the environment is super cozy and welcoming. Great for just a nice relaxing lounge, sit and eat while working on some schoolwork or whatever.

Their seasonal beverages are always a hit, especially their refreshers. Overall, I really recommend this place if you’re looking for a nice chill and relaxing place to eat and get some work done. It's a great atmosphere. I like most of the things they serve. The service is always quick. Sometimes depending on who is taking the order or who is working the order can differ between visits. The only bad thing I have to say is that'll every time I go in there in order something there's a chance of it being different from last time. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap on a pita which last time I ordered it was cooked and today I got on a wrap and it was cold. It was still good and it's not going to stop me from going but that is the only downside...
