University Village — Local services in Saint Petersburg

Very convenient location to walk to, as well as for bus riders. This small shopping center has the basics, starting with the anchor store, Publix. Here, you will also find a Subway's sandwich shop, Chinese take-out, a modest liquor store, a Great Clips hair salon, NY Nails salon, and a couple of other businesses. There's also a CVS across the street. My pet peeve is the parking lot (so I deduct 1 star). I always say it's an accident waiting to happen. It's very small, with an awkward entrance / exit plan. The driving lanes are tight. The angular (and very narrow!) parking slips are annoying if you plan to park by Publix. One good thing is that the shopping carts are continuously collected so that there's no build-up. All that said, I've found University Village to be decent enough. It's well kept. It's clean, no litter, and it's well lit at night. There's always a guard by the entrance to the Publix, so it feels...

I enjoy this plaza but at peak times the parking is pretty rough. I wouldn't bother with the Chinese food. I've tried it two times and it was old the first time and old and not spiced the second time. Publix has an assortment of everything you need. But its pick up certain things and leave others $18 for a container of commodity coffee is wild. I stick with the BOGOs those are usually pretty good if you just breeze through the store to check on them. VERY professional, courteous, and kind employees and managers. If you have a problem they will solve it...

University Village has a lot of potential, but there’s room for improvement. The community itself is welcoming, and the overall environment feels inviting. However, I was disappointed to find the restrooms in poor condition—they were not clean and fell short of expectations for a place of this caliber.

The staff I interacted with were friendly, and the facilities seemed otherwise well-maintained. If they address the cleanliness issue, this could easily be a 5-star experience. I hope to see improvements in the near future because this place has a lot...
