Horrible honestly. A bar is a bar and if you want slow service to get your beer come here.
They offered 50% off drinks up to $25 (which was later changed to $20) from 12pm to 9pm, so we showed up at 7:30pm to catch the NFL game and get some cheap drinks. It took over 20 minutes at the bar for someone to see us, and every time after it took almost as long. They didn't have the game on, and asked us to put it up for them, we did, and continued drinking. We had 4 beers and a shot a piece (8 beers and 2 shots total). Bill still came out to $55+. We asked about it and they said that they applied the discount, which doesn't make sense mathematically. [8x3 (for domestic draft)+ 10x2 (for standard shots) = $44+tax]
Once we left, one of the bartenders came outside as we were leaving and harassed us about not leaving a tip. We told him that it didn't make sense and he said he messed up about the $25 discount vs the $20 and continued to get us to tip, when I handed him a dollar he said he didn't want that and gave it back.
We would have cashed out for the discounted amount and stayed and spent double, but with the slow service and the not discounted drinks killed it. I normally tip very well on tabs, and have no problem paying full price on drinks, but to be advertised as half off and then not being that, plus the absolutely horribly slow service, and then being harassed about the tip, I can't personally recommend this place.
If you are in the area, just walk a couple of blocks down the road to Fergs and drink there, they don't false advertise discounts and actually have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe stopped into this bar after hearing good music and seeing it wasnāt overcrowded. There were four of us, and while the bar was semi-busy, we noticed some games and figured weād play a quick round of Connect 4 while deciding what to order next. The moment we picked up the game, a bartender came over and told us we had to order drinks before playing.
Three of us ordered canned drinks on the spot. Our fourth friend politely said she was skipping this round. The bartender then told her she specifically would not be allowed to play unless she purchased something. She even asked for a water, which apparently didnāt count. The bartender insisted sheād need to buy a soda and repeated that she ādoesnāt make the rules.ā
If thatās truly the rule, itās an absurd one. Not everyone drinks every round, and plenty of people avoid alcohol or soda for medical or personal reasons. Also, all three drinks were on one tab, so itās hard to understand how this policy actually benefits the bar. We wouldāve opened a tab and likely stayed longer if this interaction hadnāt happened.
To top things off, my husband saw someone doing coke in the menās restroom, so the enforcement priorities felt a little out of balance.
The music was great, and I wouldāve considered coming back on another night, but this experience put a sour taste on the evening. I donāt think Iāve ever written a negative review before,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent in on a weekday and it is as wonderful, a Tuesday after work and I had excellent service from a wonderful bartender. I go back in on first Friday because I thought there would be good service and I received a notification that they were running a half off special. Turns out they weren't, despite being told we would be getting half off, we were charged an obscene amount for what we ordered, the service was awful, it took over 10 minutes to be served initially, and I sat with an empty drink for over 10 minutes 4 times. They then approached me after I left the building and harassed me about a tip, a Spanish man with longer hair, put up in a bun or pony tail. I'm very upset because not only was I told by the staff who were working while I was in, that they would honor the deal I was told i would receive, but also the service was bad, I was ignored most of the time I was there, and then harrassed after leaving. Never going back, if anyone reads this, walk an extra 40 feet and go to fergs, they...
