If I could give a 0 I would. About 6 years ago this restaurant actually had some quality service and food. Since then quality of both food and especially service has gone down drastically. Our waiter yesterday evening was terrible. He was rushing threw everything from the dinner menu to not knowing the wine list. He was extremely rude and arrogant. Plastered my son's coke in front of me next to my wine glass because he was to lazy to actually walk around the table to give it to him. Never checked in after our entrées were served. My husband's risotto was of the consistency of water and absolutely tasteless. My chicken Parmesan was over done and had none to little mozarella or Parmesan on it. Sent it back our waiter wasn't even aware. My husband's food was getting cold. A gentleman surfaced from the kitchen starring right at us. I waived him over asked if he was the manager. He was actually the chef. I said to him you must have seen my chicken Parmesan and he pretty much stated that's how it's done. I showed him a picture of there own website of a picture of there chicken Parmesan. He said that must be a 6year old picture. It says right next to picture it was taken 1/22. He was visibly bothered and on the defensive when my husband mentioned the risotto. He said he would go and redo the dishes. Came back out stated the prior risotto had No salt and it was not made to his standards. Needless to say the food we got was not much better. As all of this was happening we saw our waiter attend to a few other tables. He removed a cocktail glass with a half cocktail still in it at the table next to us. No questions asked if the customer was even done yet. You should have seen the customers face! He reached for another customers plate at another table and the customer literary pushed his hands away and took his plate back. Save your money and more importantly your precious time. Between the waiter and chef a miserable experience. Stay away from the waiter with the shaved head! Didn't even tell us his name. The rating is combination of the food and service. The food quality and taste was exceptionally good for a general Italian restaurant and management was very accommodating and kind. However, the service not so much. I understand the island, lived here for quite some time but haven’t received poor service like this before. Our waiter Jimmy seemed irritated whenever we requested anything and we requested 2-3 times only. He would walk past us and blatantly ignore us. He made irritated looks at me, when I would kindly call on him and I understand if he is overworked but don’t take that on us. He checked on us maybe twice during the 2 hours whilst we heard him apologizing for his delays and thankful for patience at other tables, not ours. Knowing you’re going to receive a 20% gratuity yet giving attitude doesn’t bode well for a pleasant dining experience. He also made errors with our order and overcharged us and when I request to fix his error, he snatched the receipt out of my hand and the receipt was still incorrect. I overpaid just to avoid his poor attitude and wanting to take my family home. The food is priced appropriately however the wines are well over-priced. We also were sweltering in the heat - we were seated in the back of the restaurant so avoid this if possible. Kudos to the chef, management, hire more servers who don’t give tons of gruff and attitude. My boyfriend and I arrived at Pesce behind a group who had been waiting 15-20 min for their table and they were visibly unhappy with that. At that point, I could tell the restaurant was understaffed, which I slightly expected, especially in light of so many service industry professionals who never came back to work when the world opened back up. Having worked in restaurants before, I braced my boyfriend and I for slower service. However, what we got in return was quite the opposite. Will and Rishi were our servers and they were OUTSTANDING! Not only were they responsible for serving the equivalent of 9 tables (bar + surrounding area), I believe they were also responsible for serving the rest of the house their drinks. They recommended excellent dishes, when the wine we requested was sold out, they offered another back up option that was equivalent in price and arguably more delicious than what we requested. To top it off, my boyfriend had spilled some Tomato sauce on his white shirt and Will came right over (without being asked) with a glass of club soda and a napkin. The attentiveness was incredible despite how busy they were. This post is partially a testament to the good food and mostly because my boyfriend and I really just want to acknowledge the professionalism and service we were provided by Will and Rishi.
