A first visit for us at the Chupacabra Kitchen. The staff was phenomenal! The best! Exceptional customer service from the moment we stepped inside until we left. They offer fantastic service here. Everyone was personable and friendly.
The establishment is clean and the decor is super cool. The atmosphere is welcoming, and it was a relaxing place for dinner after a long day.
It's not a large dining area, but I found it to be the perfect size. It's almost cozy and such a nice change from the crowded cities. I cannot even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed the quietness of the cozy dining area. We really loved the experience at the Chupacabra Kitchen.
For starters, we ordered the fried pickles. Delicious! I can say they are some of the best I've had, and the Ranch dressing served on the side is perfect!
I had the bacon cheeseburger with a side of onion rings. Their signature sauce is fantastic. The rings could have been cooked a little longer. I like my rings with a bit of crunch, and these were on the soft/soggy side, which I did not find very appetizing. My burger was pretty good, but not the best I've had.
Hubby had the bacon cheeseburger with a side of French fries, and he enjoyed all of it.
If you're in Salado, stop on in. The food is decent, the staff is absolutely terrific, and the establishment is a wonderful place to dine. It's just a wonderful experience and a nice change from the crowded and loud restaurants of the larger nearby...
Read moreI would describe Chupacabra as a place with restaurant prices, but fast food service and food. It's a beautiful little diner with a very Texan, U.S. vibe, which I love. The employees were very nice and respectful. After you order your food, you pay right away, not after you eat. This is also the time they ask you for a tip. I gave 15% figuring I'd risk it since they seemed nice. Not too much of a tip but not disrespectful. However, the most you get after the initial interaction is someone dropping your food off at the table. Though they call it out of a window, and we had to get our own food for one of the three meals we had. You also have to get your own drinks at a soda fountain. The food was good, but fast food good. You dont get plates. Our nachos came in a plastic container. The main food comes in plastic baskets. When you're done, you throw out your trash and place the basket on top. All of this is not a big deal at all, I just think the prices are a little high for what you get, and there's not really a reason to tip Since you pretty much do all the things a waiter would do. The sodas are all off brand and pure cain sugar, which I love, and it tasted amazing. However, if you prefer name brand, they have some bottled soda there as well. Overall, this is a really nice place to visit, just be ready to pay a little bit extra for...
Read moreWhen it comes to the atmosphere I'm used to being in a restaurant with a bunch of people around me so I couldn't really get a vibe.
The food was okay. The Buffalo Chicken Sandwich had a kick of heat but it wasn't spicy. Their signature sauce really did compliment the sandwich though. Kind of like how the Chick-fil-A sauce compliments any Chick-fil-A sandwich. They just went together. What really impressed me was the fact that they did not use regular iceberg lettuce. I know for sure my sandwich came with the spring mix salad in replacement of lettuce which made the sandwich way better in my eyes. And their sweet potato fries were actually really good. I haven't eaten french fries in months so the fact that I took a chance and it wasn't awful. Made me happy. My friend had a turkey bacon sandwich which she really liked. And my daughter had the grilled cheese meal but I could not get a photo before she started eating.
What really impressed me was their customer service. The cashier was so sweet and even took her time with us. Make sure we all got what we wanted including being patient with my daughter when she was ordering her own food for the second time...
