There are many places to eat in Salado, Texas. If you want to go to a place that has unparalleled and exceptional service that has quality food that matches the service, then look no further.
We were recommended by our business partner at Salado Creek Jewelers by Kiki Creations located in Salado at 106 N Main St, where we have a storefront inside their shop when looking for a great place to eat.
Kim and Kiki said this is a must try. They were not wrong, as it is a phenomenal restaurant.
We had the pleasure to eat here multiple times while staying down the road at the Inn on The Creek, and everything was extravagant. When you first walk in the door, you are greeted and immediately feel as if you are a part of their family. Everyone is very kind. They all make sure you are well taken care of.
From the front hostesses desk, kitchen staff, waiter's,waitresses, and all of the people who work together, they provide an awesome experience. You will not be disappointed.
The quality of the food is exquisite, and you will find no better while staying in Salado or if you're just passing through. We were unsure of what to get and wanted to try out their sampler platter and order their cheese curds.
Let me tell you the flavors were exceptional and the cheese curds were not greasy and were filled completely with cheese, unlike some places that pass off a hollow cheese stick.
The sampler was amazing, and we highly recommend the kicking bourbon sauce for the wings. We did the boneless wings, and they were amazing.
On the sampler, you also receive two gigantic jalapeños full of cheese wrapped in thick bacon that is to die for.
Your taste buds will definitely thank you, and your day will be significantly better just from eating there. I opted for a Shiner Bock, and it came out in a bone-chilling cold glass that went down so easily.
The customer service is spot on as everyone made sure they are there for you without having to wave down your waiter or waitress.
It's hard to find a place nowadays that cares about providing great customer service and amazing food. Let me tell y'all this place does both so easily that it seems natural.
The restaurant inside was very busy, but all the staff ran the operation like a well-oiled machine, and despite how busy they were, they were able to provide exceptional service each time we were there.
My only complaint is that I wish I saved room for dessert because I heard it too is out of this world.
However, after eating here twice, we were so full that we didn't have the room.
When we came the second time the very next day, we ordered the Shed burger with the jalapeño bun. The burger was delectable, and the bun was even grilled.
The meat was very flavorful and not greasy at all. The sweet potato fries definitely hit the spot, and the portions were huge. The burger was so phenomenal we ate it so quickly I didn't get a chance to take a picture of it.
If you are in Salado staying at The Inn on the Creek or just passing through, you need to stop here and eat. By not doing so, you are doing your taste buds a disservice.
If you are a fan of great customer service, amazing food, that will keep you coming back for more, then look no further. The people at The Shed will definitely take care of you!
From all of us at Texas Blue Courage Company LLC, keep up the outstanding work. We enjoyed everything and look forward to eating here again. Thank y'all for treating us like family and taking such great care of us. We definitely will be recommending y'all to everyone we meet.
Respectfully,

Read moreMy husband and I have been here dozens of times and never once have we had a bad experience. We finally shared our date night spot with our daughter and her boyfriend last night for her 17th bday. I finally convinced my husband to try the pizza and let me just say...we woke up this morning and he is still raving about how amazing his pulled pork pizza was. I myself don't care much for pulled pork but that pizza was superior to any other creative made pizza I've ever had. From texture to flavor that pizza had it all. I myself had the Margherita Pizza as I always do cause it's the best in Texas and it was amazing as always and I'm literally fighting myself to not eat it for breakfast and save it for later. My daughter and her boyfriend had the wings which were also delicious. Now let chat about service. Service here has always been great. Everyone's so kind and fast. I remember a young lady who stright up roasted me over the way I mutilated a slice of pizza (which gave me a good laugh for about a week when it crossed my mind). I love service like that. When a server makes you feel like your at home with the family you actually get along with. Last night we had a server named Shelly. Just when you think your experience in a place is at its best, you then get the "cherry on the top" kind of human. Shelly was beyond fantastic. I can't just name one moment that set it all above the rest because it was just everything. Her knowledge of the menu, the restaurant and what people like, love, and must try. She got ever joke that was said including the razing given to her by a teenager. She was just hands down the "cherry on-top" of what is always the best food and environment we have ever had in any restaurant. We truly appreciate this place and the management that run it and that crew in the kitchen. I don't know who you are but from where I'm sitting, you are doing it right. I've been in this industry for over 25 yrs and still in management myself. It's rare finding a place that is consistently on point like this. I know my review is long but I give no apologies for that cause every bit of effort yall put in to make it that good every time deserves every moment it takes for me to write this. My only constructive feedback I can give is please consider adding another pizza oven. My world comes to a complete hult when we come in and the pizza oven is closed due to a wedding, event or fire. Otherwise please don't stop doing...
Read moreWell, well, well, where to begin? Unfortunate experience at this local place. Maybe it was because we stopped by on a slow Tuesday about 1 hr before closing? Shed was recommended by friends that had traveled through on Sunday that were driving from OK to Austin. So, at this time, we were not tourists or locals. We were simply driving from Temple back to Austin after some soccer tryouts for my great grandkids. We could have had dinner in Temple but decided to swing by the Shed as our friends had recommended. There were three other small parties seated when we arrived. The AC must have been out of order cause it was hot and humid, and there were at least three floor fans to cover the other parties there. So, the initial atmosphere was not very welcoming. I ordered 1 beer to have with my dinner when we ordered our drinks, and beer was not cold. Had my beer quickly before my dinner because warm beer is not enjoyable. Asked for water as follow-up and did not get the water throughout the rest of our time. One of my kids ordered the pizza. Pizza sauce had no flavor and was watery. Other kid ordered strips and received 3 small pieces. My burger was mediocre. Granted may be a touristy place with a lot of one-time visitors and it may be great place for locals to be taken to the Shed however, for this visit, it was disappointing. Can't do anything about the quality of service and food at any given time however, owner should be able to easily manage tempature of the beer case to maintain consistent cold beer. The Shed is tourist pricey at over $55 for 2 kids...
