Having to eat gluten-free this was one of the few places I could get a decent value and and used to frequent this location at least two times a week. Previous manager was hard-working, polite and professional but seems to have been replaced by two managers who appeared to dislike their job and customers.
The quality of food, cleanliness and service has greatly decreased. Several times I've been I've given flour rather than corn tortillas (I always confirm that I ordered corn). This recently happened again and I unknowingly consumed a couple of flour tortillas, which in turn caused and uncomfortable gluten reaction for me. After I politely informed the cashier she rudely insisted that I ordered "flour" after the manager confirmed that I had actually ordered "corn tortillas" both the manager seemed very indifferent and unaccommodating if not actually angry.
After returning to my table the cashier rudely slapped some corn tortillas on my table and said "There's your corn tortillas" I politely attempted inform the cashier that I was not trying to inconvenience her, but for some people eating wheat we result in a serious health issues and it is important for the customer's well-being they don't mistakenly get the wrong item. However my attempt only had the effect of making her more angry.
Most recently I attempted to pay with a "PayPal" debit MasterCard which I I have used for almost 2 years at that location, but when the cashier looked at the card with an expression of surprise and said "Wait a minute" and ran to the new manager and asked "Should we keep the card? The manager said to return the card and the cashier who was not looking at me like I was some sort of criminal loudly announced to everyone in ear shot that they could not take my card. When I asked why, both the manager and cashier informed me that PayPal was a bad company and they got ripped off by them too many times, and they recently received a corporate memo instructing them not to except PayPal credit cards.
I attempted to explain that that it was actually a "MasterCard" and if they were not getting paid for transactions they process they should contact the MasterCard Corporation and review their terms of use agreement. At this point a Hispanic man who was seated at a table near the front desk and texting on his phone loudly and argumentatively they could not take the car and take my business elsewhere. When I asked who he was he said he was a "supervisor".
I've also had a few experiences that cause me to question the safety of the Baja fresh salsa bar but that's another story.
I have tried numerous times to reach Baja fresh via their website and customer service numbers but I'm only able to leave voice messages that are never returned.
Considering the attitude of the staff and apparently the company, after posting this I would almost scared to take a chance on eating there for fear of some covert retaliation...
Read moreI came here on Mother's Day and ordered the 12 taco pack which I now see is not on the online menu anymore. I tried ordering it online with a coupon I received, but it didn't work. I finally went into the Lancaster store to order the pack. I ordered it, and thought everything was good. Come to find out, they only gave 10 tacos and did not provide the toppings as stated in the online menu. I told the server I wanted what was stated on the online menu. He refused until I continued to request the grilled vegetables. He finally gave me the grilled vegetables. I then asked for the 2 additional tacos which after much effort he finally gave me. At this point, I was exhausted from the interaction and figured I would use some cheese, etc. that I had at home. After all this, I looked online for a customer service phone number. It took a bit, but I found a corporate phone number and left a message. The next day, I received a phone call from the local manager. He agreed that the service I received was inappropriate, and they should have given the food as listed on the online menu. He said he would send me 4 coupons for any meal and a beverage for all the inconvenience. He asked me to call him when I received the coupons. Well, the coupons never came after two plus weeks. I decided to call the local store to try to talk to the manager. He was not there, so I left a message for him to call me. Over a week passed again. I decided to send an email to the corporate office. I did get a reply from corporate that they received my email. Yesterday, I finally received a letter from the local store with coupons for four individual tacos which is not what the manager told me he would send. I will let you decide on what you think of the customer service, but for me, I plan to patronize an establishment which stands...
Read moreThe only reason I'm giving one star to this store is because their food is delicious. But this is the dirtiest restaurant I've ever been to. The floor is never clean. There is always food on the floor and the bases of the tables look like they've never been washed. We just ate there again (because it's so delicious!!), but we'll never be back. The floor was worse than ever. Service was SUPER slow, which maybe they were short handed and we can handle that. Walking to the women's bathroom I was stepping on chips. It looked like there was a puddle of pee near the door of the handicapped stall. I told one of the employees and she stared at me with a blank look. Then I'm looking for sugar for my iced tea. I asked a girl for sugar and she didn't even know if they had any. After we found a clean table to sit down at a family was just getting up. Yikes! It looked like a group of monkeys had just finished eating there! I mean, we have kids, but I think these kids threw more on the floor than they ate! Anyway, no one ever came to clean it up!! We ate our entire lunch next to that! As we were leaving, and the last straw for us was what looked like watery vomit on the floor in front of the trash can! We will not set foot into this...
