The space is an inspired interpretation of a fantasy French bistro. Kudos to the design team for the use of marble and the black, pink and white palette. Dining out is all about the food (full disclosure: I consider myself a "casual foodie.") Our meal was truly the star of the show. Cocktails (Garden Party G&T, Old Fashioned) had appealing aromas and flavors. Seasonal starters were the Asparagus Gruyere Tart (crispy and comforting), and the Tomato Tartare (the technique to prepare the two different tomato components and the garlic tuille was not lost on me. Maybe a little less vinaigrette?). Mains were absolutely correct in preparation and presentation: Moules Mariniere in a lovely leek and cream broth, and Steak au poivre had superb sauce with lots of pepper (but herb butter was not necessary). The pommes frites were perfectly fried and salted (a must have side with both the mussels and the steak.) The wines were surprising: a French Sauvignon Blanc was crisp and refreshing, the Oregon Pinot Noir was a little too smoky for the steak. The wines by the glass list was short, but there is a longer bottle list with more choices. Dessert was the only minor disappointment (we shared the creme brulee), and it spent a minute too long under the broiler or the torch (the custard was warm and the the caramelized sugar almost too hard to break with the spoon). However, I asked for a shot of their house made coffee liquor and was delighted with the taste (our waiter said they would be adding digestifs to the list soon). The service from entry to exit was outstanding, every one of the staff was pleasant and professional. Thank you, Radul for an enjoyable experience all around. Bravo to Vanessa and Sheena and our unnamed kitchen team (Amber? Michael?) for the creation of something refreshing and different and necessary for those of us who love to eat here in...
Read moreNestled in the heart of Salem, Clink! offers a poetic blend of French-American fusion that feels both refined and imaginative. From the moment you walk in, you're transported by its whimsical, almost storybook atmosphere — complete with live music and a booth tucked under a tree that’s perfect for a sweet date night or dreamy brunch.
We started with the oysters on the half shell, which were fresh and well-presented, followed by the tomato tartare — a standout dish bursting with flavor and creativity. The asparagus gruyere tart was good, though less memorable, while the confit duck leg brought a rich, comforting finish to the meal.
Service was friendly and professional, even if a little slow. Our server, though clearly still gaining experience, handled everything with grace. At one point, we did head to the bar ourselves for cocktails due to a wait, and we couldn’t help but notice the table next to us had an unfortunate surprise — a fly in their drink. Minor hiccups, but worth noting.
Clink! is a new establishment, and it shows in all the best ways — spotless, well-designed, and full of thoughtful details. Pricing felt appropriate given the quality and care in both the food and the setting.
A beautiful spot for brunch or a romantic evening out. The food is largely excellent, the ambience is truly special, and while there are a few service kinks to iron out, Clink! is well worth a visit — especially if you can snag that booth...
Read moreThis place is a must visit! The atmosphere is chic and beautiful for a delicious meal under the trees. Every meal we’ve had has been better and better, they’re constantly fine-tuning and already changing the menu to what’s in season. The French classics like the French Onion soup are spot on as well as duck a la’ orange and the poulette chicken has a Dijon sauce that will have you licking the plate! There are many Gluten Free and Dairy Free dishes as well as some kid-friendly options, something for everyone. Delicious drinks include the Goldilocks bubbly cocktail and frose rose, all are crafted to perfection. Our favorite meal has been the escargot, French onion soup, poulette and potato stack with pot de creme for dessert! The steak is also fantastic, all sauces are worthy of their own spotlight! The entrees and sides are plenty large enough to share. My favorite spot to sit is on the lower level under the trees, but the upper level is light and bright and the bar seating gives you a front row seat to watching the bartenders in action! Don’t miss taking a selfie in the telephone booth or ladies~ a ladies room that will make you think you’ve transported out of town! Overall, this place is not to be missed, date night, ladies night, a group gathering in the Champagne Room or a solo night out to reward yourself. Oh, almost forgot about the espresso martini on tap… don’t...
