Backstory: About 7 years ago I went into Create a Memory and it was a nice experience. I went there almost monthly to paint new pieces. There was a time I went and painted a nice mug that took a long time but forgot to pick up on the date of the deadline. I went in about a few days later requesting to see if it was still there. The lady named Anne told me that it was probably thrown in the trash since I didnāt pick it up. Super bummed I turned around and left. On the way out I noticed my painted mug was on one of the tables going out the door. I grabbed it and told Anne that it was mine. I looked on the bottom to make sure and it had my initials. She told me I couldnāt have it and to put it back on the table as it was a cup used for water. (The ones with the sponges in it.) I again told her that it was mine and why I painted it the way that I did and the meaning behind it. She dismissed me and told me to put it back. I was frustrated, hurt, and honestly, angry. I picked up the mug which was rightfully mine because I already paid for it. Squeezed out the water in the sponge and left. She chased after me out the door into the street and said āIām calling the cops.ā I said, āOkay. Well itās mine.ā And quickly walked away. I told myself I would never go back and I havenāt until my girlfriend brought me there just recently as a surprise. I thought I would give the place another chance hoping that Anne would not be there . . .
Me and my girlfriend went in a month ago I was nervous because of the experience I had before but went in with a positive attitude and everything was good. We picked out a few small pieces and started our painting. We returned to continue our art pieces over the course of several weeks, one of which had a deadline that my girlfriend had mistakenly missed since it was her first time at Create a Memory. She received multiple calls while at work regarding the deadline of one specific piece that needed to be picked up. Anne had left a total of two voicemails specifying very unprofessionally that if these art pieces were not picked up they would be thrown out. She stated with a very unusually unpleasant tone, āI donāt care who you send to pick them up. They need to be picked up today before closing. Usually I donāt call to let people know to pick up their art. End of discussion!ā And then she hung up.
So wow. . . Did THAT Create a Memory.
Anne came off very unprofessional, rude, emotionally unstable, and highly inappropriate. I was immediately appalled with the voicemail response that Anne left and the terrible first experience my girlfriend had to endure. Anneās voicemails not only interrupted my girlfriendās work serving patients at an Urgent Care Clinic but also made for a very inappropriate experience.
I was not pleased with Anneās approach to this matter and would suggest that she consider her attitude and professionalism before she thinks of calling and leaving multiple degrading voicemails to paying customers. This would completely discourage anyone to return to this establishment if they received voicemails like I did. I am not giving this place a third chance. Was even interested in coming back to check out the stained glass making as a date with my Girlfriend.. but one of the staff there is absolutely horrendous.. we were a few minutes past our allotted time and one of the ladies working there started yelling at us that we had to leave because she had another party in a little bit (I thought a little rude but no big deal) we got everything cleaned up and out to the car in like 5 minutes.. what really got me upset and not ever wanting to return to this place is that while thai rest of the adults and children in the party were out at the cars putting All the stuff from the party away. My girlfriend was inside the studio having her son use the restroom and this lady. I don't know if she's an employee, the owner, or what proceeds to accuse my girlfriend of theft saying that we didn't pay for anything even though I had closed out the bill 30 minutes earlier.. and when my girlfriend had to Jen ask the person I paid the bill with who was sitting right there and heard these accusations and didn't speak up if I had paid and then he was like. Oh yeah it's all taken care of. I just didn't close it out in case you guys wanted more stuff cuz you were still here. My girlfriend didn't even get an apology from the lady who accused her.. So I waited until I picked up my pottery because I've read other reviews where there's been instances with. Probably this same employee being very demeaning towards customers and pottery coming up missing.. really sucks too. There was a lady at the counter who said that was too long of time that it passed and I said but my receipts that I have until the end of january. After waiting a few minutes he came back stating that he was unable to find one of our items. At that point he started providing some additional options when the lady at the counter interrupted and told us that she was not going to provide options for something that we had waited that long to pick up. She told me that they would find it and I would have to come back. At that point I told her that was not an option that I did not live in town and she simply said she would mail it to us. At that point I asked how's your policy changed? And she said that it had in between the time that I was there and clearly the first of the year. At that point I tried to explain to her that had I understood that I had less time to come and pick it up I would never have waited so long but the receipt said that I had until the end of january. She completely dismissed me and was entirely rude over a policy that changed after I was there. I think it's absolutely ludicrous that anybody walk into a business and be treated that way.
