Just an FYI I have been going there since I was 13 and it's the only place that I will eat Vietnamese food. They are just that good, although I'm not as out of the box kind of girl I like to stick with what I know. Which is the grilled pork chops (a freakingmazing) and shrimp rolls you truly have never tasted anything like them! My brother got super pho the other day and his pork chop was dry and ugly where there's our soft and so much flavor. no one can ever recreate the magic in your mouth when that happens. Even my Vietnamese friends can't do it like them. And the pho is good, only thing is I don't really eat soup. But I highly suggest you going to this little hole in the wall on Silverton rd.. next to a a dong market and try the grilled pork chops and the shrimp roll with no mint or basil. The portions are extremely large I don't know what these people are talking about I can eat three meals out of one order of just the pork chops in the shrimp rolls. I've been working since I was a kid down the street at a Chinese restaurant which I no longer work at. but I did for 13 years. If people are complaining about the service or food etc. They're either off their meds or( Bunch sissy lalas that and like to complain about everything) every person that I have taken there is very picky and not adventurous!they finally are in love with kh's I was there a week ago to pick up a to go. And I think they're amazing, everybody gets scared when they haven't tried something. because you know your body and you know what you like but if you've never tried this you'll never go bact now. after eating there All the group of girls, were like a family there always meet at Kim huongs! After work hungry in the morning hungry lunch time Kim hungs always all.. me because hangover food not only does it taste amazing but it gets rid of your hangover! Those people know us by name, and our order by heart since it's been so long. And to the person who said they had bad service, yes sometimes you do have to remind them to fill your water. But you're not taking an account is that it's a family business and there's only one or two females on the floor at any given time. The wages worth it and they're more than happy to help you with anything and everything.asap my brother loves the stuff chicken wings they're really good. You should try that too and you also will become addicted. It's like crack once you get it, you never leave it alone and you'll realize that there's no place that compares which is why we're now in our thirties and have been going there since I was 13. I'm 32 now and I haven't changed my order in over a decade. when we call each other to say meet up for lunch we don't even say where we're going!, we just know we go straight to. KH's Thank you come home you are amazing. I'd usually don't eat pork but whatever you do to that pork, I want the recipe so I can make a flool out of myself trying to make it. And the shrimp rolls are perfect for an appetizer. It's not very costly either. Lunch has smaller portions but dinner hour, has huge portions and is a little more expensive than lunch. It's pretty costly effective. It tastes good it's private most of the time. And the lady is so nice that does the waitressing there. And for the guy above me who said he had to wait forever for someone to see him? You seat yourself when you walk in. So they weren't picking on you.aa it's unfortunately closed for dining in right now because of covid and won't be back open for a couple of months. But they do deliver with Postmates and Uber eats. And it still isn't that expensive. Or you can call your order in and have it ready by the time you get there. It's like...
Read moreWe've been here a few times inside, and dozens of times with takeout/delivery .. deeply saddened I've never wrote a review of this place beforehand! This is hands down the best Pho place around the greater Salem/Keizer area, and we've only been able to find one other Pho restaurant to the north that's broth is better. Everything is always beautiful presentation wise, the smells make your mouth water and the taste is everything you'd dream a solid bowl of Pho would be.
We got two orders of the #9 (Well Done Beef Slice, Brisket & Flank) and an order of Pork Belly Baos. Highly highly recommend the #9 as the superior bowl of Pho - make sure you get this specifically! The Baos are also great but the Pork Belly is uniquely on another level.
The inside service is also really quiet; you pay for your meal, sit down, it's brought out to you and then you get to relax and eat. It's the perfect structure for a quiet Vietnamese restaurant. This isn't to say that the service here isn't engaging - the service is engaging and welcoming when it needs to be and that's what counts for us.
Fantastic 5 star Vietnamese restaurant. - go here and try...
Read moreI'm not an expert on Vietnamese cuisine, so I really can't comment on the authenticity of Kim Huong's menu, but I will say that it has consistently been the best pho I've had in Oregon. The portions are generous, the herbs and vegetables taste extremely fresh, and the soups are flavorful and full of noodles and meats. Their beef pho with all the beef choices (meatballs, beef cheek, thin sliced beef, and others) feels like a tribute to the versatility of beef, with a variety of textures that major carnivores will find downright exciting.
We've had the pho ga (chicken noodle pho! It's great when you're feeling under the weather), some fabulous steamed buns, several stir fries and noodles dishes that have consistently great, and the special spicy beef and pork soup that I adored, but my partner didn't care for. The banh mi sandwich was good, but the pork belly was a little uninteresting as a protein choice, I'd try something...
