This was my first time here. I was told that when it’s good here, it’s very good. But sometimes it’s not as good, I was also told. I came in with my friend. He loves the place. I ordered three street fish tacos. Albeit that they were very tasty. The amount of fish was less than an index finger. The fish was fried. I actually very much enjoyed the taste. But the amount of fish was not what I thought was appropriate for the taste or for the price. And the amount of fish in each of the three tacos that I got, were not the same. They went with small medium, and a large larger amount on the tacos. My friend on the other hand, ordered a beef burrito. I immediately lusted after his burrito. It was about 3 inches in diameter wide and about 6 inches long, seven maybe. It was a dollar more but it looked fantastic. It looked juicy. I can’t have beef so I would not order that I would order it in chicken. But I immediately wanted to return and get that instead of these fish tacos with this Mrs. Paul’s fish fillet cut into thirds. I did order a margarita. Lime on the rocks. And I thought it was a good value. And it had a decent amount of alcohol in it. All in all, I can’t wait to come back to this place. The service was outstanding.very helpful for a first run customer. I thought the place was clean. It was not terribly crowded around one, 1:15 in the afternoon on a weekday. Summary. No to fish tacos! Yes for burritos! There was another option on the menu that I would never try. Because it’s beef steak. But my buddy, loves that option. It’s got cheese and beef together with some sort of special oil. He loves it! I’m just including this because I don’t want any beef lover to pass it up simply because I didn’t eat it. He’s eaten a...

I have been giving Marco my business since he owned La Perla. I have always told out-of-towners, close friends, and family about his amazing food and continue to do so. However, I must say that I have been a bit disappointed over the past year. I have never contemplated stopping my business to a restaurant so often, until I am continually let down when I come in. From forgetting tacos, to absurd wait times for an order of six tacos (all for them to be cold upon consumption), to getting like three sauces for a full bag of food, I am less than happy. I have kept myself from saying something to Marco as i know opening upon (not just one, but TWO new locations) will cause a bit of chaos, so I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. However a few weeks back I was picking up an order of food to bring to a friend out of town... to get all the way to his house to realize there were no tacos like i had asked and the burrito I ordered was not prepared the way I had told the servers. Again, I am not one to complain, its still good food, so I usually shrug it off, but I am over it at this point. Unless service starts to change a bit I may have to move on, which really sucks as I love my little taco shop! I would be rating 3/5 stars but I don't have the heart to do so! Marco has always been a solid 4 or 5/5 and I am hoping it can get back to that place. PLEASE still go check it out and order a carne burrito con crema y guac. less beans more rice. Heaven in a tortilla. Also, the sauce is amazing and I have yet to find another place with such great tasking salsa. Thank you for the years of tacos and...

Edit: This place is no longer cheap. Their chicken tacos use to be 1.00 they are now 4.00. Fish tacos are 5.00 EACH!! Mind you these are street tacos size. So small AF tacos. I use to love this place. I realize there's inflation, But this is on a whole other level. Inflation is not to this point. This is absurd. I cannot in good conscious recommend this place until they have some common sense on their pricing.

OLD REVIEW: I've been here over a dozen times for the last 8 years. They are very consistent with their food. If you want a cheap affordable meal, This is the place to go. They have really good fish tacos, and cheeseburgers? Yeah, you heard me right cheeseburgers. I know it sounds crazy getting cheeseburgers from a taco shop, but no joke, They taste like your normal fresh off the grill cheeseburgers from your buddies bbq. Unless your buddies Gordon Ramsey, then that's not the case. Their tacos and cheeseburgers easily beat all fast food versions in town. Everything else on the menu is a little hit or miss.

That being said, They are extremely customer friendly and if you don't like what you ordered taste wise, They will simply replace it no questions asked.

So if you're looking for cheap eats and good food, Definitely try this place out and don't forget their...

Ordered the Pork Chimichanga here. Overall my experience was very positive today. There is no dine in seating as of posting (12/14/20) but they have drive through as well as lobby takeout. We had a very short wait for the food which was priced very reasonable. The fried tortilla shell was crispy, golden and not very greasy at all. Rice, bean and pork filling tasted fresh and well cooked. The presentation was tidy, and there were no problems with the order. This meal was a bargain and ended up one of the better Mexican style meals I've ordered in the Salem area.

Decided to finally try this place. The staff was really friendly. The food was ok. I got the Salem Burrito (amongst other items) and it was not worth the price. There were no fries in there and it was pretty dry. The size of the burritos was also disappointing. They are fine if you’re a kid. The flavor of the food was good, but there was more rice than anything. Wish there would have been more carne asada in there. Still on the fence of if I will go back since there are better, bigger burritos for the same price or less.
