I hadn't had Papa Ginos in a good 6 yrs as I had moved to Virginia were Papa Ginos doesn't exist. I have recently moved back to Massachusetts and I had to have me some Papa Ginos . Ik they are not comparable to top notch pizza places but as far as I'm concerned they are what I consider the best of the Fast Food Pizza places as I call it. Places like Dominos,Pizza Hut Papa John's and so on so ... I ordered myself a small extra cheese and Pepperoni pizza and cheese raviolis with a side of meatballs. And once I had it in my hands I became giddy lol loke a little kid. I was actually so looking forward to this classic meal for my teens through my young adult and adult years.... And I will not lie once I opened thst pizza box and took out a slice of that cheese Pepperoni pizza I was thrown back to times of yesteryear. It was just how I remembered it,delicious . Now like I have stated it's not up there with the top notch styles of New Haven style of say Sallys Apizzia or even Bostons North Ends Regina Pizzia. But to me it's a comforting tasty "Fast Food Pizzia" that just takes me back to simpler times. The Cheese raviolis were also tasty, the sauce was very good like I remembered it (again not the best but still worth the praise in my eyes) the meatballs were juicy meaty balls of goodness. I realize that this review may be biased but idc its my review of how I felt about the food. Do I think every one of ypubthstbread this will feel the same NO I DONT,but some of you are gonna enjoy it and a few of you will probably get everything I'm saying about Papa Ginos. Over all I was very satisfied with my meal and will definitely be picking up myself some Papa Ginos again as well as their counterpart and by that I mean D'Angelos for a long needed Teryaki Chicken Stir Fry in a Pocket..... also haven't had one in as...
Read moreSo it's a Papa Gino's. Food is standard/decent, takes a long time, as is par for the course at this chain. But if you're dining in, dress for whatever weather it is outside, possibly colder. I visited when it was like 40 outside and it felt colder inside. So much so that I felt I should say something. The worker agreed with me and said he would ask though "the last time he asked the answer was no". Clearly I'm not the only one who felt this way. Sure enough he came back and said "no it's automatically controlled". Really? I'm sure someone there can do something about that, or heck, fire your hvac controls company. Find another way to save costs, charge dine in customers a $1 "we're too cheap for heat fee". Advertise it as a BYOSH... Bring Your Own Space Heater... I'd rate it higher aside from this issue, but this is a crappy business practice. So, no. Oh, and it gets better.... On top of that, after waiting for 30 minutes, we were then informed they were out of one of our toppings... Seriously? You hadn't even started making it for 30 minutes before telling us that? So I'd subtract more stars but there's no more stars to subtract....
Read moreThis is a bit overdue, but definitely well deserved & much appreciated review of this store and experience and I'd like to shoutout Megan M. and her team during my August 10th visit during dinner time.
I went here with a group of friends after a company outing and saw a good deal about Twin Lobster Rolls, so being a fan of seafood I ordered this along with a bottle of soda.
Shortly after grabbing a seat, Megan came over and let me know that the lobster they had on hand was still frozen and needed time to thaw out, and she was more than apologetic and understanding at how that caused an inconvenience.
I greatly appreciated how she explained to me that it probably won't be ready for a little while and did go out of her way to offer me something else in exchange, a slice or two of pizza or even something else altogether, but I also understood that it really wasn't her fault and helped me get a refund without any hassle. This behavior is definitely above and beyond what I expected and wanted to, again, give a huge shoutout to Megan & team that day! Go...
