I had a really bad experience with this place. I can't complain about the food. I really like their food. Food is not only the attraction that people should look for, its how the people treat you while you are eating there or picking your food. Recently I and some of my co-worker ordered some food from this place over the phone. I went there to pick up the food. I had to pay with credit cards and some cash. I had to give receipt to my friends for their payment. I don't remember this guy's name who was at the register at the time, but I asked him very politely in English, I said " would you give me all the receipt please" he goes "excuse me!!" in a very rude raised voice, "I gave you receipt for your credit card payment, I don't give receipt for cash". I was like really! I was in my work cloth and there were people eating right behind me. Again I simply said I need receipt so that I can give it to my co-workers, and he looked at me as if I was there to rob him and he said " I already told you, I don't give receipt for cash" the people behind me looked at me. I fell so ashamed. I left the place without the receipt for my cash payment. It is very sad moment. I was never been treated by people like that. therefore, here is what I recommend, food like that we can buy it some where else. but if you want to earn the business from the people, please be nice. You the "owner" doesn't have to pay to be nice to your customer, but the customer will pay for your food. Treat people with respect. I also work for a company and we deal with people 24/7, but nobody treat people like that. By the way do you not give receipt to all of your customer if they pay you cash? How is that even possible. I and my friends who work with me are avoiding this place. Food is every where! Chinese food lot of places. Smile and Be nice. Train yourself and your Employee. True...

Have not been to Szechuan at Ridgewood Farms in a long time and was disappointed they no longer have the tasty lunch buffet, but the lunch special was a great substitute. I chose Shrimp Lo Mein, which comes with fried rice and an egg roll. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of juicy shrimp mixed with the tasty noodles and various vegetables (carrots, green onions, celery, bok choy etc) The fried rice was acceptable and was more flavorful with a tad of soy sauce. The spring roll was crispy and a little hard to eat, as it fell apart with one bite but was still delicious! The server was very attentive and pleasant, providing excellent service. This is obviously still a popular lunch location for all walks of life. The lunch special was delicious and an excellent value. The atmosphere is uplifting and attractive. I'll be making another visit soon.

March 2025 Ordered the lunch special Moo Goo Gai Pan, which was absolutely delicious. Asked for no carrots, and my request was honored. The dish at lunch comes with rice and an egg roll, and the portions are very generous. The yellow rice was a tad bland, needing soy sauce to liven it up. The egg roll was excellent, crispy, and tasty. The hot tea was a real treat on a chilly day. The smiling wait staff were very congenital, and all our requests were met with positivity and promptness. I appreciate the offerings of a Light Special menu as well as a Light Lunch Special in addition to the regular Lunch menu.. I love this restaurant. "I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Szechuan Restaurant in Salem, Virginia, and I was thoroughly impressed!

The service was excellent, and the food was absolutely delicious.

I highly recommend the moo shu pork - it was flavorful, tender, and expertly prepared. The pancakes were freshly made and added a nice crunch to the dish.

I also enjoyed the vegetable tofu soup, which was light, refreshing, and full of flavor. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were very reasonable.

What really impressed me was that I ordered takeout, and the food was piping hot!

The packaging was also excellent - everything was carefully wrapped and packaged to ensure that the food stayed hot and secure during transport.
