Kroger — Local services in Salem

The kroger itself is fine with helpful and friendly store staff.... except for the pharmacy. I asked for a syringe in order to measure liquid medication, and she looked at me very judgmental and told me that they couldn't give out needles! In total shock and disbelief, I just walked away and then went back because clearly she either misunderstood or even more troubling didn't know the difference?! Either way, she still said they couldn't give them out, which was fine but the way she talked down to me really bothered me. I'm a medical professional who has been very fortunate to work with those struggling with addiction, and it breaks my heart knowing that another professional could treat someone this way. As much as I hate being judged..... and could go down the rabbit hole of why I personally was put in this category. I won't even go there. The real issue is if you really thought that I was an addict why not ask the supervisor for direction if you were unsure of how to respond. Either way to look at someone that way and talk down to them is totally heartbreaking for someone who could already be trying to stay safe while obviously still struggling. I love this Kroger. In fact I love all Kroger. But this is my home Kroger. So I love it most of all. My only thought is that they might carry 30 pack of Genesee Beer I so adore. The Kroger at Lakeside carries it. Are there Krogers carry it. I just wished my home Kroger carried it. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Just like the other Kroger's but this is my home Kroger so I feel it extra special. They know my name. they also know that I buy Hamm's beer there because I can't get the Genesee because they don't carry it while the other Kroger's do. And they might expand their cheese selection by the way. Like the Gucci Kroger where I find an expanded cheese selection and my Genesee, that is not so close to home. So I love this Kroger. I wanted to be more Kroger. Perhaps with a Kro-bar selling microbrews like the other Kroger with the expanded cheese selection and the Genesee Beer but so much closer to where I live... So Kroger I asked please upgrade my Kroger. I would be personally grateful and others would too and you would find it worth it. And give every staff member raise they work hard for their money and they deserve it. I've never gotten better service at any Grocery venue. And I'm 53 years old....

I have said over and over again that I won’t shop at Kroger any more for groceries. They never have people to check you out. Today they had one when it was time for people to get off from work. The self checkout lines were long. About every other time I scanned an item the machine I was using said ‘make sure you scan your item before putting it in the bag. Then, I had a coupon and had to wait for the person to come and clear it for me. Why do you have to have someone to come approve your coupon? I am fed up with Kroger. Even though Food Lion is further away, I am going there. The isles are wider and the store is cleaner. They always have several checkout people who are very pleasant. I never leave there upset.
