We stopped in here last night, Sunday. We were traveling on the way back home to Michigan. It was about 630 so since we found your place on the list of best places to eat in Salina we wanted to try it out. OMG!!!!! You were so busy that we were not sure if we had time to place an order cause it was getting close to closing time. But we got to place our order the lady apologized saying that the chicken was about 15 or 20 minutes out because they had gotten a big to go order. We were good with that so we sat down to wait. Looking around at the people that were eating already we could see that they were enjoying what they were eating. We have been on the road traveling from Michigan to Northern California and Oregon Yellowstone to here looking for a place just like yours!!!!!!! We got our food and it took us back to when our Moms would fry us chicken, this is absolutely the best. And we appreciated the way you made us feel right at home. The 2 ladies are so adorable , you treated us like we came there all the time thank you for that!!! Oh and the homemade icing, the lemon and orange was just right. I only have one thing that could be better if you were in Michigan close to us!!!!! LOL. If anyone has never been here you need to get in quickly and see what you are missing. Cause you are not going to get anything better. Thanks for being...
Read moreToday was Wednesday 10/30/13. I went in for the special of biscuits and sausage gravy with fried potatoes. I also had a single chicken strip. I have to admit I was very disappointed in this special. The "fried potatoes" were frozen cubed potatoes that were poorly cooked. The biscuits were dry and tasteless and the sausage gravy was their basic gravy (which sucks) with added sausage. The only good thing about my meal was the chicken strip.
My suggestion to the "new" owner: The gravy tastes bad. Why don't you try to find a new one? This isn't new, but apparently you aren't aware of it. If you're going to offer specials, which I don't mind... make sure they highlight you're restaurant, not bring it down. Do you ever watch Restaurant Impossible? You might look it up. One of the deals there is that buying frozen product is often more expensive than the fresh, real thing or made from scratch.
You guys do such a great job on your chicken and broasted potatoes. You can do...
Read moreFirst off, Jim’s is doing false advertising online. They promote “seafood Friday” with fried catfish. The picture with multiple pieces is clearly breaded in cornmeal. The picture of the fish in the box, which is what I was given when I ordered, is VERY clearly breaded differently than what they advertise. When I posted a comment on their Facebook, I was told I was incorrect. They then removed every picture of catfish from their Facebook page and blocked me from being able to respond to their comment or comment on their page in general.
I am all about supporting local business. But this place is a joke. The owner/person who runs their social media is rude. Multiple people have called them out for false advertising. The fish I actually brought home was so greasy there was grease pooled in the container. Just absolutely disgusting. And DEFINITELY not worth $12 for one...
