I'm updating a review. I have really debated submitting this bad review. I hate to ever do any harm to a local small business. I am submitting this as constructive criticism to the management/owners. I realized that our last experience, albeit nearly a year ago was so discouraging we have not been back since. I'm not so sure I would have called ourselves regulars, but we were regular enough to always be recognized by our server. We came in on a Saturday after the dinner rush. Somehow our ticket was lost and more than an hour into waiting our server bad to resubmit it and was extremely apologetic. Then more than an hour and a half after we had placed our order, in a now empty tavern, a very burnt pizza came out. Again our server was extremely apologetic, but by now, totally famished, my wife said it was fine. She wanted to eat something. We ate the 2 least burn pieces. The next least burnt piece was inedible. Again our server was apologetic, asked if we wanted any of the leftover (2/3) of the pizza to go. We pointed out that it is comepletly inedible. She said she would see if we could get it discounted. She came out with the bill and said management would only let her take 15% off the pizza. For a pizza we only ate 66% of and shouldn't have ate 75% of. We literally left hungry and ate at home. Really what should have happened when the burn pizza came out after waiting such a long time, would have been to say. Please, eat what you can of this while I have another made for you. Instead feeling frustrated with our experience we have not been back since. I know we are prabably not even missed. But I think it was a strange choice to give a $4.50 discout on a $60 bill. It was clear our server was even embarrassed by that discount. But, she should prabably been the one who should have insisted on making a better pizza. That choice has prabably cost you a $1000 a year in gross revenue from us for several years. Maybe that is a drop in the bucket....
Read moreI've come in to this place four times over the course of a week while I was around the area on vacation, And one trend just kept recurring, The Kitchen they have in front of the bar, Is not cleaned regularly at all, The fryer vents are caked in grease that could be a fire hazard, The flat top is pitch black and just disgusting, The fryers looked like they haven't been properly detailed in at least two weeks. The food itself I ordered was varied each time, I usually went with the pizza, Which was alright for what it was, But the beer cheese and pretzels, No seasoning or salt whatsoever, And the cheese itself was congealed and dark, Like it wasn't stirred at all. I'd say the complaints about burgers is pretty well known since the Owner put a note up about people mis-temping burgers, But if there is one upside: It's the staff, The bartenders do an exceptional job with the service they offer and do try their best, I'd honestly rate it higher if the cleanliness of that kitchen was better and the food wasn't just dismal for the price, Before the price raises a few years ago, This place was actually pretty solid for what it was, But if I'm paying 15 dollars for an entree that isn't prepared and made in a clean kitchen with good effort behind it, Then I can't condone it. I feel like quality has gone down in the last few years. In summary: The staff do a good job, But I feel like lots of...
Read moreFirst time visit. Well, I really wanted to love this place. First off. I have to say the fried pickles were great. Now the waitress was pleasant enough and not sure if management tells them to take as many shortcuts to save money, but here goes. We ordered fried pickles as an appetizer. The waitress put the order down in the middle and gave us one small cup of ranch, to share? Umm, sharing? Covid? I'm with a friend, not family... Then we noticed no plates, just napkins, so we literally were putting our pickles on stacked napkins in front of us. I needed a pop refill, since it melted and was all watered down. and finally had to flag the waitress down even though she said there were not really any customers. I watched her take my glass and put fresh pop on top of the watered down drink??? Ugh, a watered down refill! Trying to save money??? I asked for hot sauce and was handed a bottle that looked like it sat outside for a long time and tasted that way too! To make frustrations worse, they had a patio door that creaked and popped and sounded like it was going to pop right off its hinges as ot opened and closed every few minutes. The burger was thick and cooked correctly, but had no taste. Pricing was about the norm for most restaurants. I hope this was a one off experience. I would like to try again, And really have a hankering for...
