Remains the best at Calabash Style seafood in Salisbury North Carolina. However barbecue places around here started selling Seafood and started offering almost as good as Blue Bay. That's where Blue Bay still has them beat. In fact a lot of people have said Blue Bay is better than some of the places they eat at the coast . They offer better quality Calabash Style seafood. Still have a lot of the same kitchen help that made Blue Bay famous back in the Barber Junction days . I remember the good old days at Blue Bay first started in Cleveland North Carolina as the locals called it Barber Junction. Although those awesome days are gone it still is a good quality seafood establishment. Has some of the best Alaskan Whitefish, regular flounder and Canadian flounder to be found here along with shrimp, clam strips, scallops and not to forget oysters, devil crab. One of the Styles they do is salt and pepper. I highly recommend getting your platter done with the salt and pepper batter. Blue Bay has a awesome reputation because Dino and his family have ran this restaurant very well for over 30 years! Which is quite an accomplishment most establishments can't stay that consistent. Especially when it comes to Seafood we have had quite a lot of Fish Camps over the years that people still talk about in the Salisbury area . Winks and Pier 21, not to forget Joel Seafood of long ago . Because of the recent great service and some of the daily specials I've upgraded my stars to and excellent five star. Can't go wrong with their daily specials. They also have good American food items now. Really good fried chicken, big chopped steak, and even offer grilled steak. And their award-winning hush puppies, onion rings are hard to beat however the barbecue places are doing pretty good at Seafood these days. Also it it's a great place for large groups, and families.Has a huge dinning area. But this place has been consistent for over 30 years as being a leader for seafood in Salisbury North Carolina. That is quite an accomplishment. Has my favorite 3 c 's of diners and dives which is cost-effectiveness, cleanliness and awesome customer service. Offers military, and senior discounts. May you seek God always in your life. Take time...
Read moreA Delightful Culinary ExperienceI recently had the pleasure of dining at Blue Bay Restaurant, and it was an experience worth sharing. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the serene ambiance and the breathtaking view of the ocean. The decor is elegant yet cozy, making it a perfect spot for both casual dinners and special occasions.Service: The service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. They made excellent recommendations and ensured that our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable.Food: The menu at Blue Bay offers a fantastic array of options, featuring fresh seafood and a variety of international dishes. I started with the lobster bisque, which was rich and flavorful. For the main course, I opted for the grilled sea bass. It was cooked to perfection, with a crispy exterior and tender, flaky inside. The accompanying side of roasted vegetables was equally delightful. My dining companion chose the seafood paella, which was generously portioned and bursting with flavors.Drinks: The wine list is extensive, with a good selection of local and international wines. We chose a crisp Sauvignon Blanc that paired wonderfully with our seafood dishes. The cocktails are also worth mentioning; the Blue Bay signature cocktail was a refreshing mix of tropical flavors that complemented the meal perfectly.Dessert: For dessert, we indulged in the chocolate fondant, which was an absolute treat. The rich, gooey center paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal.Overall: Blue Bay Restaurant exceeded my expectations in every way. The combination of excellent food, top-notch service, and stunning views makes it a standout dining destination. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable...
Read moreWe came in at 6:30 on a Saturday evening and were quickly seated in a mostly filled dining room. Our waitress quickly came and took our drink order and gave us time to look over the menu. She was very pleasant and professional in both manner and appearance. When we were ready to order she was right there. My wife ordered the salmon, salad and baked potato. I ordered the broiled seafood platter and a sweet potato. This prompted my wife to change her order to a sweet potato also. I also made an order to go for my son at home. Waitress was completely unfazed by any of our changes or additions. Food came out very quickly, remember I said earlier that the place was very busy. My platter was prepared well and was very tasty. My only complaint would be with the deviled crab..too salty. My wife's salmon was as she put it not bad, but she has had better. It was slightly undercooked and not as flaky as she would have liked it to be. Those are the only reasons I rated them at 4 stars. Waitress checked on us a couple of times and was prompt with the check. She also advised us that our take out would be at the front counter. Check out was a breeze, everyone was very polite, cheerful, and helpful. I appreciate good attitudes as much as I appreciate good food when I dine out. Nice family restaurant, reasonable priced good food. Good selection for a...
